PoKeys / copy pokeys 55 settings to new hard drive
« on: February 25, 2020, 10:57:19 AM »
i have had a mill running with mach3 , a smoothstepper and a pokeys 55 for 8 years now . its time to upgrade to a newer pc with a
solid state drive. i have reinstalled mach3 . installed the smoothstepper and copied the old mach3 folder to the new drive. what do i do with the pokeys 55? i have it interfacing with a panel of start buttons , mpg, selector switches , etc and dont  wish to reconfigure the pokeys software all over. id there a configuration file to copy  from the old hard drive?

i have had the same problem before. are you using lazycam? i create toolpaths in turbocad. i found that i have to explode all arcs and then  join polylines to get rid of that. for some reason lazycam would insert extra m3 m5 commands if left as lines and arcs. another thing could be tiny pionts left on a drawing. lazycam will create a m3 m5 for those.

hi, i am connected thru 2 pci parrallel port cards.one is being used for outputs to larken viper drives and manual pulse generator. . the other pci port is connected thru a sound logic breakout board which has safety charge pump and onboard relays . works for me.the onboard parallel port on the motherboard i have disabled.if your drive has isolation already, why  add another buffer between them?

i agree, breakout boards have given me endless hours of troubleshooting to remedy lost steps.i use 1 but only for inputs and relay outputs.a heads up on an ebay seller wilhelmjason.a dispute this guy resulted in him threatening to target me with his hacker forums to spam the crap out of me.real creep.

I just got my CNC running on Monday with Mach 3 software, so I am a newb with this piece of software.  But if I click on the x y & z to reset them to 0, and then go into one of the options menus... even if I don't change a single option, the x y & z change to seemingly random numbers like the 0.000 will change to say 8.6293.  What is with that?   It seems to happen by pressing the reset button as well.

Thanks

corydoras, sorry cant help. sold that machine. a suggestion though. have you tried reinstalling the driver from the cd that came with the pport?

have you rebooted?
i just went thru this not with a netmos but another brand sunex  . after entering the address, it worked fine. have you checked the diagnostics , try setting the pins for an input of a limit switch, or an mpg. if the port is working you will see the leds lighting up.
