LazyCam (Beta) / Optimizing dxf drawing
« on: October 28, 2007, 11:33:56 AM »
Hi
I have a dxf file of an indoor depron model airplane that i would like to cut on my cnc

The problem is that when i try to clean an optimize it it adds a ton of rapids, so thet it almost looks like a web.

I have watched the Lazycam videos a couple of times, but please tell me what I am doing wrong

The file is originally a converted pdf, but has been cleaned up pretty good in Autocad.

There are some places that are not connected so it make the drawing made out of aprox 5 parts.

I am attaching the dxf file and the L.cam file if someone would like to take a look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong

Thanx in advance

I am currently using AutoCad 2006, and want to make a front panel for my newest machine, but when I am going to import the dxf file in Lazy Cam it want show the text.

This is beacuse (I think) the text is not drawn as lines...am I correct?

I know earlier versions of AutoCad like AutoCad9 had this function, but cant find it in 2006 version.

Does anyone know how to write in a dxf file, or have any software to make this happen?

General Mach Discussion / Another NetMos 2nd paralell port thread
« on: July 07, 2007, 05:34:40 PM »
Hi Folks

I know there has been several thread according problrms with adding another paralellport in this forum....and I´ve read them all....believe me:)

The Pci card is an StLab/Sunsway I-112 Pci paralellport aka Netmos 9805 PCI paralell port

I see that najnielkp have gotten in to work in another thread but unfortunately it didnt work for me
http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/forum/index.php?topic=2633.0

In this post there is also a screenshot of my device manager and this is what I have tried:

Installed the PCI card according to manual, and activated the second LPT port in Mach3, and put inn the I/O adress (in my case 9000) but no movement

I have also gone throu ever possible setting in the bios, but cant find anything about the added card, only the original onboard printer port.

Here are some screenshots of my config

General Mach Discussion / Simple toolchange position
« on: July 04, 2007, 06:57:21 PM »
Hi

I am looking for an easy way to get my machine to move to a toolchange position, without getting in to VB

Is this possible?

I am not gonna have an auto toolchange just for the machine to go to a set of coordinates to get easy access to the spindle, because I have my home position in the upper left corner if you know what I mean.

By the way, is there aneasy way to change the start position from bottom left corner to upper left corner?

Love Mach3, thanks Art & Co

Hi

I have a question about connecting step/dir to my Sanyo Denki Bl Super amplifier.

It has position control, and can take either 2 pulse-trains or 1 pulse input and one direction input.

Has anyone ever connected this and run it under Mach software?

My main question is:
Do I need any kind of Breakoutboard, or do i connect the wires from my paralellport directly onto the amplifier?

General Mach Discussion / Sanyo Denki BL Super servos
« on: January 26, 2007, 10:01:51 AM »
Hi

I just got myself 4 Sanyo Denki BL Super servos for free, inkl drives.

I just briefly looked trough the manuals , and it looks like they can be used for positioning control by negative command pulses and positive, they also have encoders for feedback.

Does anyone know if this equipment is possible to run under Mach 3?

I am planning to substitude my steppers for these servos.

They used to be controlled by an Omron PLC.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / tool offset problems
« on: September 06, 2006, 11:57:21 AM »
Hi
This problem might have been asked severel times before, but i could not fin any threads answering my question.

I am a total newbie to cnc and G-codes.

When i For example try to cut a circle drawn in Autocad and stored as dxf, and the import it to Mach3 it cuts, no problem, but the problem appears when i want to set the tool offset.
I hav tried to manually put in G41 at the top of the code list and it cuts outher an G42 for inner (correct me if I am wrong)

The problem is that the tool stats atthe startpostion in the lower Z pos and then moves out to the offsetdiameter of the circle
i dont know if you guys understand what i mean, but in short the piece that i want in the middle (circle) gets a mark of half the tool with

Sorry, ill try to post a picture of it if you guys dont understand my messy explenation.

Can somebody tell me how and where to write th G41 and G42 codes in the g-code table?
