G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Move after program end
« on: September 01, 2015, 04:01:59 PM »
After spending some time searching the forum, I cannot seem to find an answer to my problem.

When I machine at an offset, lets say G55, and the program ends, the machine moves to "0", but this position puts the gantry and spindle somehow in the way of my inspections or removal of the machined piece.

Is there a way to make the machine go the the machine coordinate position, or any specified position automatically after program end?

I have not used any screedesigner in 3-4 years.
I am starting a poject, that is a little out of the box.
I want to make myself a Tigerstop for my chopsaw.
Single stepper axis with the posibilities to have a screen with a large numeric display to enter the position/length of the board
The speed will be constant, just tuning the motor ramp in config
I am planning to use a touch screen, if possible.
So if anyone want to fiddle with a screenset for fun, it would be greately appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / No Mach3 found running
« on: December 30, 2012, 02:41:47 PM »
Hi

Running latest ve 3.043.066 with LC

Lately I have had a problem that has been discussed and solved in ths thread by kolias: http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,22538.0.html

I also have this problem, and I cannot get it solved.

Mabye a downgrade is only option. But no previous versions are available for download, at least no one that I can find.

Only way around is to have the gcode/file loaded in mach3, then close mach 3, then push load mach3 in LC, then it pops up.
I then have to press post, after editing toolpaths. reopen mach 3 and open the created g code file.
I used to be able yo post directly into mach 3, and also load diectly. This is now impossible.

LC is installed when prompted during mach3 install.

LC is installed in the Mach3 folder.

Any suggestions, Art?, Brian?

General Mach Discussion / External homing button
« on: November 05, 2011, 02:19:32 PM »
Hi
I used to have a external button to trig "ref all home", but it seem to have been messed up.

Anyone care to look at this script to see if it looks sensible?

If IsActive (input4) Then
DoButton( 24 )
DoButton( 23 )
DoButton( 22 )
DoButton( 25 )

 End If

This is written under "ref all home" button on page one.
Input4 is configuret under ports and pins with the correct input number.

General Mach Discussion / Settings file
« on: January 02, 2010, 03:21:28 PM »
Hi

I had to make a new windows install as my pc for my cnc was all clugged up with viruses an things.

I made a new install on a new harddrive, so I can still put it in to recover any files i might miss later.
I had made screenshots of all settings for motors and pins, but seems like i had some scrips and customized screen buttons and so on.

So my Q is, are there any of the *.set or *.lset files that i can copy from the old hdd, and have these integrated in a click.

Something waaaaay back in my head made me believe that the 1024 file that i had made mods to, (well in fact some of you out there) was downloaded an swapped, but its been a long time without any machine running, but i would like to have it as close to what i had.

For example i must have messed up som output on my secondary printerport, as my spindle starts when i hit reset button.

I think i made a script for that, but ill guess ill find it after searching my old threads.

General Mach Discussion / Z axis returning to zero between multipasses
« on: March 10, 2009, 02:09:55 PM »
Hi when i cut out a pice in multiple passes, howcome the z axis returns to zero (startpoint at top of material) before starting the next cut?

Ex: I want to make a cut through a 20 mm plywood sheet, and decide to use a 6 mm diameter tool. I would the set the machine to cut 7 passes of 3mm cuts, but after the first cut of 3mm, the z axis returns to zero before plunging down to 6 mm and make the next pass.

Are there any way to make it cut the 3 mm cut and then at the next generated g-code line just plunge to 6 mm and make the next pass, it would save me alot of time, as my z axis is not that fast.

Am I missing some settings here?

General Mach Discussion / I´m back after a year away from the forum:)
« on: February 21, 2009, 04:58:07 PM »
Hi guys, I´m back after a year away from the forum, due to oyher hobbies and extra time at work.

I see that there has been alot of releases of mach 3 updates since mine v3.036 from feb 2008

I read in a post that Quantum was no longer beeing developed and the features that where ment for Q, is no integrated into  Mach 3. (read path smoothing)

I just upgraded to v 3.042.021, and have read the release notes, but if somone here could  write a line or 2 to inform me of the major changes, as i can not fint any anti jek function iin my newest version, as there is in Q.

My machine runs best on Q

Another thing I have forgotten this past year is transfering all my settings like VB´s brans and macros from the old version to the new one, I did copy the 1024.lset file and the xml file but cannot remeber how i did it, did i just paste it in the mach folder?

I also noticed that the wizzards are no longe licenced, only demo after upgrading, why?

Please shed some light on the return of the lost son:)
