General Mach Discussion / g28 coordinates?
« on: May 17, 2015, 08:09:04 AM »
When the program code hits g28 the tool stops above the work piece that I am cutting. I have not been able to figure out how to make the tool go to another spot on the table. I've played with the settings, yet nothing happens. How do I do it? thanks in advance.

I thought that 66 rather than 68 was the better version. Can you please advise on the "best" for a mill. And where's the archive for other versions? thanks

I am afraid that this is not the case.  When Mach 3 stops at a M1 coomand, the keyboard is dead. I cannot move the gantry out of the way to flip the material.
I was always able to move the gantry no matter where I stopped Mach 3. Then with a "run from here" , I would continue to run a program.
I am no longer being able to do this, so I am stuck.

Perhaps if someonce could provide me some instructions on how to get the "tool change" position option to make the gantry move out of the way, this might be a work around for now.

I am using a slightly modified screen. Can this be the cause? See attached screen file.

I can't jog the machine after stopping it in the middle of a run. I was able to do it; now I can't anymore.
The code has not changed, but the config has. I went from v68 to v66 because it was suggested that the 66 is a better version.
I had this issue before I changed versions of Mach 3. The keyboard does not do it, nor does the virtual pendant. I am stuck.

Does anyone have a clue?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Z Axis not moving afer loading GCode
« on: May 06, 2015, 05:28:15 AM »
I've attached a snipped of my code.  Again, there must be something I failed to check in the config file.  The code has not changed and the program runs fine. It's only when , in the middle of the program, I stop the machine and need to jog an axis that I am not able to jog it.

This is the result of upgrading Mach3 to a different version and losing some of my old functionalities. Specifically, the Z command is not responsive once I am in the middle of a program that has been executed. Sometimes, I need to make small tool depth offset changes and need to bring up the tool. Mach 3 now does not let me do it.  I know there's a way to do it, because I had been doing it for a long time.  Now I am stuck in the middle of a program, with the tool touching the stock.
I need to bring it up and need to know what, in Mach 3 config file, I need to check.

thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: two issues....
« on: April 26, 2015, 04:13:55 PM »
This is funny. I had v062 but could not get the M6start to work without a crash. l was told to go to the later version, and now I am having different issues.
I added some code to the M6Start, but the Z axis always wants to move up, past its safe limits and crashes.
I am simply stumped.
