Why do you ask?  Is Motherboard type an issue?  If so I didn't know that.

General Mach Discussion / Driver test mayhem.....Oh NO!!!!

I can't believe it.

A family member was complaining that I had pinched his computer to run Mach.

It was running it adequately.  Celeron 1.6 Ghz 512 mb ram. Start ups disabled. Driver test was passable. Could have been better

My Main desktop, Petium 4,  2.8 Ghz driver test as solid as a rock. No optimization, network running, everything.

So I decided to get a new one for CNC. Capable of doing CAD CAM whatever. (not at the same time as Mach)

Core 2 Duo,  1 gig ram, nothing installed.  Should be the ducks nuts.

Run the driver test and OHH NO !!!

What's going on ?????

NC Pod / Re: New ncPod plugin available - 9th March
« on: March 09, 2007, 04:11:16 AM »

Don't know much about it yet Ryan.

The firmware that goes with it is not posted on the OEMtech site. I have emailed Carl but no answer yet.

So even if you wanted to have a go with the new plugin it won't work without that.

Art has said that dual drive homing is not implemented so I'll have to wait.

Dual drive homing is essential on my machine.

NC Pod / New ncPod plugin available - 9th March

This is a link to a post Art made on the Yahoo group

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mach1mach2cnc/message/70439

Plugin is in the download section.

The required firmware is not posted on the OEMtech site yet.  Hopefully won't be long.

Now the question (for me at least) is will dual drive homing work.  Should find out soon.  ;D

NC Pod / What's happening. Things have fallen very quiet here. :)

Whats going on ?  Anything at all ?

It's like a graveyard on the ncPod forum.

How's the plugin going or has it been relegated down the list ?   :)

In normal operation I spose you would generate your gcode in the correct scale.

However because I am only testing my new machine I have just been running the provided Roadrunner.

To get it to run at a realistic size on my machine I have been using scale.

However feedhold does not work when using scale.

Never mind,  hopefully I won't need it once I get going.  ;D

Further to this problem

I loaded up the latest version. No difference.

Discovered it is when scaling is used.

Turn scaling off and all it starts OK after feedhold

Brett

I went to try the "FRO on queue" and had more problems before I even had a chance to see if that fixed it.

When in the middle of cutting the roadrunner (or any file I presume) if I hit feedhold then start

the router wanders off to some imaginary point in the distance and won't stop till it hits a limit or I stop it.

I have no idea whats going on here.  :)
