OK I'll be watching to see if you get an answer.    Greg

.

Still looking for a way to change the default feed rate.  For those reading, this has nothing to do with the "seek limits" speed,

but is the feedrate displayed when you turn on Mach3.  It always starts at 6 IPM.

I'm not sure how this would bother you Flipz.  Once you start a gcode it will have a feed rate in the code.

If using MDI then add feed rate to your first line.  It will stay at a setting until altered by gcode or MDI

Greg

EDIT:  I just tried it. You can also enter a feed rate into the DRO and it will stay.  I know this does not answer your question about default.  ;D

EDIT:  I don't know how to change default feed rate.

Homing to Y=73.  Go to "Config"   "Homing and Limits"  set "Home Off" for Y to 73 and set "Home Neg" to off.

I still haven't settled on a layout. Changing it whenever I use it. ;D

The fact that I cannot have a button to run my "Auto Tool Zero" macro somewhat

spoils it for me and consequently I hardly use it.

There are only so many buttons and options. Everyone's needs will be different.

Just set up what you think and change them as you settle into a use pattern.

There is a setting you must assign to a button if you want it to be like that.

The setting is "Cont/Inc Center Mode"

Unfortunately it defaults to Continuous.  So that's why you must assign a button.

I and  a few others have asked if this can be changed to default to Incremental but no joy yet.  :)

That way if you would always want it in Incremental (which makes sense to me, the other dial does continuous)

you could save a button for a more useful function.

Deleteallusers

There has been a lot of posts about "Touch Off Plates"   That's how I learned about them.

If you follow this link it will take you to a thread I started on CNCzone and explains my method.

It may or may not be what you're looking for.

Can't help with a "spring loaded depth guard"

Also regarding a vacuum hold-down that would be suitable for PCBs take a look at this one.

I have not used mine for PCBs but I'm sure it would be good and it might give you some ideas.

If I have got that right. That's what you said in post #4   :)

Then try something more like this. Then you can increase it bit by bit and see how it goes.

When I enter those numbers into Mach this is what I get.

I expect that acceleration is most likely too high.

Binding may be an issue as Sid suggested.

If that is not obvious then what I would try first is drop the max speed and acceleration to about half what is is now.

That acceleration you now have is pretty high. It would need to be a very strong machine to handle that.

If it then does not lose steps, try increasing it by a small amount until it does. Then back it down again about ten percent.

Works in progress / Re: My Simple Screen for Touch
« on: June 17, 2007, 07:06:58 AM »

OK well I was not going to post the set file but here it is.

This screen is not likely to suit any one else but me but maybe you might want
to poke around in it with Screen4 to see what I have done.

My point is that anyone can do a screen that suits their way of working.  If I can do it then any body can.  ;D

My aim was a simple easy to see screen set.  Not art. :)

Unlike Ynneb, Satiniuk and others I have not done complex JPEG backgrounds with transparent buttons placed over it.

Although there are good reasons for doing it that way.

I have stayed with separate PNGs for buttons etc so that makes it very easy to make changes if I want them.

As my methods of using my machine change or evolve.
