Mach Screens / Gcode windows in Screen4
« on: July 14, 2007, 05:21:41 AM »
Setting number of lines to display in Gcode windows in Screen4 is not working for me. >:(

No matter what number I set it ignores it when opened in Mach making the text smaller than I want.

I don't know if this just started happening or I just did not notice before.

Any bright ideas?

Greg

EDIT:  I checked back and this must have crept in with one of the recent Mach updates. Don't know when.

JetCam screen designer / Re: List of Jetcam requests :)

Please don't apologize Stan.

I and many others really appreciate the time and effort you have put into this.

I was just a little worried that you may have thought that flash was becoming the method of choice so why bother.

Flash may be great but for ordinary Mach users like me  it's a bit too complex.  ;D

Screen4 for all it's frustrations is more my level.  Jetcam will be a real boon.

Mach Screens / Re: Another screen size question
« on: July 12, 2007, 06:55:42 AM »
G'day Zealous

I seem to have got around it by building my main screens to just the right size so that Mach does

not distort them at all when doing "Auto Screen Resize"

Then it will show the wizards and the 1024 which I use as my "sset" at the adjusted size.

The odd bit of text blur etc does not matter on those. And my main set still looks sharp,

By the way has Jetcam dropped off the shelf?  I hope not.

I would love to be able to do my screen in Flash but it's a bit beyond me.  ;D

I have seen what you have done with being able to easily alter button colours etc on the 1024 set

but that is not what I need.  Mine is a complete new screen layout.

Thanks,  Greg

I don't want to be rude or pushy but can I ask is this screen designer still happening?

It would still be a really good thing.  I would love to be able to use it.

Screen4 is limited and not everyone is rushing to flash.  We're not all smart enough.  ;D

Mach Screens / Another screen size question
« on: July 10, 2007, 09:13:00 AM »

I am now the proud owner of a 12" touch screen. 800 x 600.

Making my "Bright Buttons" screen layout to suit the small size.

Now my issue is....... I want to make my screens the right size so that they do not need to be resized by Mach.

There by not mucking up the text on Gcode lists etc.

It just all round comes up better at native size.

However I find I must set the "Auto Screen Resize" otherwise the wizard screens are not usable on the 800 x 600 screen.

Does anyone know a work around for this?  Getting the wizard screens to show on 800 x 600 without "Auto Screen Resize"

General Mach Discussion / Re: stuck on external estop

As you have no hardware hooked up,

Go to,  Config / Ports and Pins / Input Signals and scroll down to Estop and toggle the Active low setting.

After that go to the following link,

http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/artsoft/videos.htm

Watch at least these videos, "Downloading and Installing", "Hooking up Inputs and Outputs",  "Screens - An Overview" and "Coordinates / Homing"

General Mach Discussion / Re: Spindle start problem
« on: June 29, 2007, 12:50:34 AM »

Is there a place to turn the spindle on and off manually?

There is a button on the standard screenset on the bottom left hand side. Under "Spindle Speed"

Toggles CW spindle. Also works with F5   OEM code is 110 if your moding your screenset.

OK my point is that in that case you want to use Feedhold instead of Stop.

"Stop" will stop instantly and will most likely loose steps. If you start again it might not be accurate.

"Feedhold" will ramp down to a stop and will retain the integrity of position so that starting again will be accurate.

But if you really want "Stop" to operate with the space bar then use the method I described earlier.

EDIT:  Brett beat me to it.  ;D

Would like the space bar to do a normal stop such as the (Alt-S) does so that after can just hit cycle start to keep going. Anyway of doing this???

I,m sorry Jim but your question does not make sense to me.  ;D

Sounds like you are describing Feedhold as opposed to Stop.

Anyhow the way I assign keyboard shortcuts to functions not listed in the "System Hotkeys" setup dialog box is to use Screen4

Open your screenset in Screen4 and select the button you wish to change. There is the option to assign a keystroke.
