Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Re: Taskbar and NFS wizards
« on: June 02, 2011, 10:27:08 PM »

I do my testing on a big screen, but do not maximize the window, I run it at 1024,768 which is the default window size.

The standard Mach3 screen pages all allow room at the bottom of a page for the taskbar on 1024 x 768.

I always keep control elements to an area of 1024 x 700, when doing screen design.

Yes there is "taskbar auto hide" and "auto screen enlarge" but IMHO this is a good precedent to stay with in screen layout.

Sage

It is a common error that screen designers make.

This particular issue looks to have crept in with the latest revision of the Newfangled Wizards.  Not there in my older set.

Only effects screen page number 19.  The Toolpath Preview page.  All other pages are fine.

Easily fixed.

Edit that page (19)  with MachScreen and shift the back button and the text beside it, up by about twenty pixels.  Problem gone.   ;)

No it is not the same thing at all.

I am using a serial converter.

You are using a USB serial emulator. Presumably with FTDI chip on board.

I use this,

Coming to grips with setting up serial modbus in Mach took me a while, but no port or communication issues.

Maybe a dumb question but......

If you have a serial port, why are you using a USB to 485 converter?

Is there any chance that someone can modify the previous brain posted and add the working "reverse" function. ( I may only use it once, but it would be nice to have just in case).

This is my brain for spindle control.

It works in CW (M3)  and CCW ( M4)

Also a pic of the serial modbus configuration screen that works with it

As far as I know this is a limitation of the 4th axis toolpath view.   No fix that I know of.

You could break the longer moves involving the 4th axis into smaller segments but that is not really practical.

So far I have just learned to live with it.

If any one else knows a trick to fix this I would love to hear about it.

I assume that you will not be operating the spindle and plasma at the same time.

Why not set up a plasma profile and a spindle profile?

Simply start up with the appropriate profile depending how you want to use the machine.

Each profile could have its own custom screenset dedicated to either plasma or spindle.

I remember a long time ago, Brian saying there was some limitation with CV and a 4th axis.

Art said it should work if acceleration rate of the 4th axis were pretty close to what the linear axis are.

Never got a better explanation.

Also not at all sure this is the cause of your problem, but thought it was worth a try.

Did you try it with CV turned off?
