I Must admit, I did try writing a guide (for beginners) to wiring a CNC machine about a year ago. http://openbuilds.com/threads/electronics-101.693/

The further I got into it the more I realized just how much of a grey area it really is. Sadly, few of the newcomers to that forum took much notice and all the same wiring mistakes are still being made and re-discovered all over again.

I would like to think it has helped some but I think it is one of those things that we just have to go through to learn about it. Wisdom is something no one can take from you. Unfortunately no one can give it to you either. Hind site is 20/20 and while a lot of information is available I think an awful lot of it only makes sense if viewed in the rearview mirror.

Are you using a custom profile or one of Machs default profiles? I would try one of the unaltered defaults and see if it works in it. Lots of changes to the default profiles (ini) that yours may not have.

So I must have wired my solenoid backwards and/or routed my output air hose from solenoid to spindle from the wrong outlet of the solenoid?

You possibly have some outputs (electrical and/or pneumatic) crossed but I don't know enough about your set up to say for sure. You need to try to figure out exactly how it all works together and make any adjustments based on your findings.
