I like the router screen could we get a 4 axis version Please

Good, glad you like it.  :)

Absolutely! You can edit the router screen and add the 4th axis elements. You could even add a 5th and 6th axis if you want. Your imagination is about the only limiting factor in Mach4. I highly recommend you save the screen as something unique first though and then edit that screen. Best to leave default screens, profiles, modules, etc. as is.

Build 3112 pre-release is available to test. This is a pretty major update. It is recommended you copy a default profile and configure the saved profile for your machine.

Build 3112 of Mach4Hobby can be downloaded here:

ftp://anonymous:guest@machsupport.com/Mach4/DevlopmentVersions/Mach4Hobby%20Installer-4.2.0.3112.exe

1) PMC editor is now included. This is basically a ladder logic graphical script/code builder. If you like ladder logic, you should love PMC editor. No programming knowledge is needed for using the PMC editor. A PMC Editor help file is also included in the Docs folder.

2) Default profiles and screens for lathes and routers are now included.

3) Canned cycles wizards for lathe. ***These were donated by MachMotion and they have done a great job. You will want to check these out.***

4) Default screens have had significant updates (mainly to the scripts).

5) Functional cycle timer added to default screens.

6) A TouchOff module has been added (clicking the touch button will open it). Once you open it, read the tool tips that pop up when hovering over GUI elements for more details.

7) Fixed a few openGL bugs that were present in tangential mode.

8 ) A CV feedrate wizard is now included. At the moment, there are 179 settings for it. 1 - 179 degrees. Enter the max feedrate you want the machine to travel at for each angle.

9) Updated installer and uninstaller. Wording in some dialogs were edited to help users avoid mistakes while installing. You can also deselect any control types you wish not to install. The new uninstaller (which is installed when you run the new installer) should not delete existing license, custom screens, custom profiles or custom shortcuts. ***Note: The uninstaller you have now will so be sure to back everything up before running the installer***. Desktop shortcuts added for selected machine types. On the finish page you can deselect launching the Mach loader when finished.

The CV wizard in its current form is about as straight forward as it can be. I'm not sure I can expand much on what I have already written about the CV wizard other than there is a button at the top of the wizard that tells you if the CV Feedrate wizard is on or off. When you click it, it will change its state to the opposite. Other than that, play with it to see what it does. Write you a simple square Gcode (be sure to set CV mode (G64) and the feed rate is within your machines ability). Run it with the wizard on and off. Run it a few more times after changing the feedrate for 90 degree angles. Set the 90 degree feedrate to 1/100, then 1/10 then 1/2 the feedrate you wrote in the Gcode. Run the Gcode after each change and see for yourself how it changes the toolpath in the corners.

With the new touch tool, when I probe z, it will set the DRO height to 0.3, (I wasn't paying attention and when I zeroed 0.29 was way off and bent probe tip) When I probe x it will touch off and then set the x to -0.3390, which is also wrong. (I have tool or probe diameter set to 0.0787" ruby tip)

What is your Touch Plate Height set to?

That's got to be the cutest center section I have ever seen.   :)

You just keep impressing Steve!

I think (but can't swear) there are API calls for that. Should be able to find them in the Mach4CoreAPI help file. Likely start with mcToolPath.

seesoe,

You may want to give the pre-release mentioned at this link a go and see how you get on with the new Touch feature. Be sure to read and follow all in the post and installer.

mdi you need cycle start enter does not work that was Mach3

Yup...... scr.ExecMdi('mdi1')

I would start with wx4 or wx6 I think. The wxMach screen has not been updated in a while and likely never will be again.

Mach4 does not do any backlash compensation. If using Mach4 the backlash compensation is handled by the motion device. If your motion device does not support backlash compensation then you do not have backlash compensation. The backlash units entry in motor tuning is a convenient place for motion device plugins to get that information from, nothing more.

But still - is the output LED Icon in the Diagnostic screen dependent of the plugin?

Assuming you are talking about the diagnostics page in one of the default screens (wx4 or wx6), the output leds represent the state of output signals (the only thing Mach4 controls). If your looking for the status of hardware pins you will need to look at the SmoothStepper (or whatever hardware your using) diagnostics.
