General Mach Discussion / Re: New Fixture save

Hello Hood,
I just repeated all of your test and was asked every time to save fiture offset on exit. I'm using the tried and true version R1.84.001.

My X & Y has got the twitches also. Only until I open Mach and hit reset does it stop. I'm going to try this and see if it helps. I have not seen a problem when running. I don't think I have Mach settings wrong. In fact, I think Mach is so good that not only does it run my machine very well, it may be fixing a problem I have created my self somewhere else!!!!!!! :D

General Mach Discussion / Re: Keygrabber Axis Gain question

Hi Chris,
I know I've asked before, but are you sure your intial delay in misc. settings (in keygrabber) is set to 300? I wish I had a gamepad that would plug in to my gamecard, all of mine are usb. How big is the delay? 1sec., 5sec., 1/2 sec. ?

Are they jogging, or moving at the same rate in run, jog, and diag.?

Are you using a ballscrew or lead screw? If it is a ballscrew you may be able to change it out with a lead screw and solve the power off drift. I'm assuming you are using steppers? The counter weight is really the best thing though. If I had a really neat way to do it I would use the weights. I just don't want it to look gaudy. ::)

Did you get to play with keygrabber yet?

I thought you would have. 8)
I'm assuming you
1. Load your code
2. Jog to where you want zero to be
3. Zero your axis dros.
Do I understand this?  ??? From this point, if you shut Mach down it should but does not ask for fixture save. Any time I have zeroed my axis, from that point on, when I shut Mach down it ask for fixture save.

Do you have you optional offset save and persistant offsets check boxes checked in config-state screen.

Thanks Sid,
Â   I checked that out. It looks pretty neat. I just wish I could get the game pad right. I think it is a bug with Mach or Keygrabber. It does exactly what I want it to do to the second axis I command but not the first. That is if you are moving more than one axis simultaneously.

Thanks Chip,
Â     I've seen this also. I was wondering about actually hooking them together. Get a dual shaft in front and connect the second motor to the back shaft with a coupling. I think I could use the same pulse. Buy one more drive and one more motor and double the torque. I don't see why this wouldn't work, but then again I'm new to this. I'm driving the knee of my mill with one 1780oz in. motor. It does move, but only at 8in. min.. I could put counter weights or air cylinder assist for the mass of the knee but two motors would be allot more fun. Besides It would look allot cleaner. If this set will work I think I could move the knee about 25-30 in. min..
