G0 is a rapid and G1 is a feed. Are you running in feed rate over ride? I saw somewhere to check this box if you are. (See Pic.) Your axis should move at rapid, what it is tuned to in motor tuning, without skipping steps. It should never go over that even if you have your feed rate over ride set to 300 with a feed rate of 99999. This Queue box being checked is supposed to fix it if that is the case. If your motor is tuned right then try to back off of the feed rate. I hope all of this makes sense and is what you are asking.

Hey Brian,
    I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. You can install encoders and set up some DROs on your screen if that is what you are asking. Mach doesn't support closed loop just yet. You can use the actual position (encoders) and the Mach position DROs and have it throw a diveation error.

Hi Greg,
    This could, make sure you have 5 volts on all of your pins. Some Pcs have a 3.5 volt power supply. What was your accel and vel set at in motor tuning before and now?

I have not had a chance to play with this yet. Does the shuttle pro emulate keystrokes? Could your screen set be causing this if it were different?

Hello All,
     I downloaded Tony's trial VCarve Pro today, NICE, VERY NICE. User friendly format. The one thing everyone needs to understand, especially if you are running a heavy, slow mill like myself, is that arc moves, G2 / G3 are not supported in the free trial yet. This is what Tony had to say about it.

 

We will be updating the Trial version in the near future and this will include the Arc postp’s and output the G2 & G3 commands.

 

I can't say it enough, don't underestimate this software. You will be able to flatter the toughest critics with the pieces you can produce using their software. These guys are tough as a bag of hammers.

 

No affiliation, just a big fan of their work.

Sounds like you are either skipping steps because of mechanical trouble, your motor tuning which you have already checked, or good old noise. Just my first thoughts. Still lots of possibility's. Can you get it to repeat the problem and if so, where, and what is it doing?
