Mach4 General Discussion / Re: How to Emulate a Momentary switch?
« on: May 28, 2017, 09:17:43 AM »
For strictly momentary buttons you can use a standard button and add script to do what you want on the left down script and then stop that in the left up script. It will do what you want when you push the button and stop when you let off. Like the default jog buttons do. This is one of the greatest things about lua. It's smart enough to sense press and release.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach3 upgrade to Mach4
« on: May 25, 2017, 12:08:27 PM »
If you know your hardware (machine) then Mach4 or Mach3 will be easy to configure. If you don't know much about the machine except how to push the start button then either would be a struggle. We all come from different places so its hard to say how easy or difficult anyone else will find it but i suggest downloading the demo and going through the configuration while following the manual. If it all makes sense to you then you will be fine. If it all reads like Egyptian hieroglyphics I would do a lot of studying up before taking the machine down for the upgrade.

Mach4s screens are customizable and the editor is built right into Mach. The screens are highly customizable but they have a different tool set than Mach3. Also, the scripting language for Mach3 was Cypress Enable and for Mach4 it is lua so there will be a learning curve to customize in 4 even if you could customize 3 without effort. Again, I would download the demo and try recreating your screen in it. That is the only way you will know how well you get on with it.

Mauri, I'm not sure on any of those. Been a while since I got to look at it and was very brief then but I will try to find out for you.

but where do I get the required PID is it the one from the Mach4 about drop down ?

Oh, yeah...... I was understanding you. Yes, you get the PCID from the Mach4 about drop down.

No problem,

The only reason M6 would not work is because the function in the macro is named m6, not M6. But the default naming convention is m6 and is what should be used. Windows will work either way as long as you're consistent when naming the function, calling the function and naming the macro but not all platforms will.  And since lua is case sensitive M6 and m6 are 2 completly different things.

I'm not surprised. As I said, it will not work without a license.

Well, ModuleWorks isn't our product so the chances of them doing things like we do is slim to none.

The only place I know you can buy a license is on our webpage. See the link in my first post.

Just looked at it Stuart. Sorry, but it will not work without a license.

Nice Tweakie! I know what the locals would say about you if you lived around here. That Tweakie is handy as a side pocket.  ;D

I do not have any melinex but I do have some copper shim stock and a mill. Can I make a US version with those you think?

Anyone interested in getting the ModuleWorks plugin for Mach4 can for a limited time and save some money. See our page at the following link for details.

I have included a screen shot you can use to compare the standard tool path to the ModuleWorks Simulator.

The touch doc is in the docs folder. You must be running an old version?
