Glad you got it sorted.  :)

See the Gcode manuals that come with the install of Mach4 (Docs folder). They cover tool offsets.

Csmio pulse duration is %50

Ok, when you do the math, how long are they on for and what duration do the drives require?

Have the servo drives been configured and tuned?

I would definitely cycle power after any changes that do not seem to be making a difference. But what I meant was, if the steps per were right with pokeys then the same steps per settings should still be right (and your math looks correct assuming there is no other gearing involved) no matter what controller you use. Maybe the step pulse duration isn't long enough for the drives to see all of them? Have you checked the math on that? Can you change the micro steps on the drives? Might try lowering the count if you can. Are your machine setup units and units mode right for the testing your doing? Think maybe you have a EMI (noise) problem? Post a picture of your CSLabs and the area it lives in. Why did you change from pokeys to CS-Labs if the pokeys was working well?

Originally when I was setting up the CSMIO in mach I did enter all the same values I had with the pokeyes, but it didn't work correctly.  The machine would physically move 1.6 times farther than it was supposed to.

That's not right then. The question now is, which one was set correctly? How did you determine the steps per originally? Show me the math.

I have never seen this problem myself.

Are you shutting down Mach and cycling power to the CS-Labs controller after making adjustments to the steps per?

More interesting, I would like to know why the steps per are not the same if running CS-Labs or Pokeys? Steps per are dictated by hardware, not the controller.

Design your screen first. Make it look like you want using the type elements you want the user to enter info. into for the variables. You will need to know the names of those elements when you start scripting. Keep it as lean and clean as possible. If those seeing it here can't imagine how to use it to run the right part the end user probably won't either. Typically if you have to have any redundants in a custom interface you need to rethink it. Usually the simpler the screen looks and easier it is to run the machine the more script it takes to make it work. But this is the whole and only reason to do a custom screen. You put the work in once to make it easier for the operator/s to run (for a long time if you build a decent machine).

How much do the dimensions change if you run a light slow finish pass?

Why are the dimensions off? Just adjusting your motor tuning based on a guess will likely make your problem worse. Test to determine the source of the error and go from there. If you do determine the steps per are off check your backlash and be sure to not include it in your steps per calculation.

I had to finish my last reply before I was finished.  ;D

Nothing wrong at all with letting Mach shut down the air compressor, vacuum table, dust collector, etc. as long as it is all designed to work correctly and safely. Many of those features are built into Mach4s default router screen and has accompanying Mcodes so those actions can be performed from Gcode.  ;)

I will say I am typically not a fan of automation using anything wireless. I much, much, much prefer wires. But if a wireless link fails and the only cost is going to be you having to pay a little higher power bill........ well that may be cheaper than all the wire. If a wireless link fails and the Estop button doesnt work anymore....... I would avoid it all together.

I have used a good many opto 22 racks in the past for controlling all sorts of things.
