Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Erratic Feedrate When Cutting Spline Lines
« on: September 26, 2017, 04:56:12 PM »
Here it is guys. For now, it will only be accurate for machines whose machine setup units are set to inch. The tolerance you set is in inches and it populates the CV_Feedrate table in inches per minute. Inches everything.......... everything is inches. Once I feel confident its good to go for inches i will make it so it works for mm as well.

Just download the attachment and place it in your Mach4\Wizards folder. You can then select and run it as any other wizard.

Let me know how it works for you please.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Using registers to control screen gauges
« on: September 26, 2017, 10:46:15 AM »
DROs can be linked to Registers......... its one of their properties. Not sure about gauges though. Doing it in the PLC script is a good way to get it done but I would check to see if the register changed values from last check and only update the screen element if it had. Otherwise it will be unnecessarily spamming the gui. The fractional DROs (which are actually labels) in the default router screen work like this from a check in the PLC script which runs a function in the screen load script if needed.

Hey Guys,

I have written a wizard that populates the CV table based on the axis you select, their motor tuning (accel and velocity) and a off path by max tolerance that you enter. It will populate the Feed rate for each angle from 0-179 degrees in the CV table that is the max the machine can do and stay within the tolerance you specified. If there is enough interest, hopefully it will be available for testing later today. Let me know if your interested.

Hooked, sounds like your A axis no longer has an enabled motor mapped to it. Is that right?

Looking good Tweakie.  :)

I think the only requirement for being considered artistic is that you have an imagination and are capable of displaying that imagination to others. You nail it pretty often Tweakie so you can go ahead and put a checkmark in that artistic skills box.

Post the code and I will look at it. The message box is in the master module if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the info Allan, any idea where I could find version 4.2.3233? I can only see versions 3390 or higher on the Mach4 downloads page/FTP server.

The M542 stepper drivers I'm connecting at the moment can handle pulse frequency between 0 and 300khz. Pulse width not less than  1.5us. I'm not certain what the csmio ips puts out.

Sure you do (assuming the following quote is accurate).

Quote
Csmio pulse duration is %50

So do the math using your steps per and velocity to determine how many pulses a second your asking CSLabs to send. If it is less than the CSMIO/IP-M's maximum freq. do the math to determine if the duration is within the drives requirements.
