Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: Need help configuring G-Rex pins in Mach3
« on: September 09, 2007, 08:31:29 PM »
Hey Bill, sorry, I just got in from work. All inputs and outputs are set to port 1, pins are: 1-16 ins and outs are 1-16 on the g100 ins and outs. Your Home switches should be wired to the ones marked LIM for each axis. They are inputs 17-22, 17=x, 18=Y, 19=Z, 20=A, 21=B, 22=C.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Macropump help
« on: September 08, 2007, 05:54:51 AM »
Hey Freddy,
Open the profile you want the macro in in Mach. Go to the top tabs, choose operator, VB script editor. From there browse to your C\Mach3\macros\?whatever profile you want the macro in? If this is a macro pump, you need to add to your macro pump, If there is no macropump allready, just put your code in the VB script editor and save as macropump.m1s in the macro folder under the profile you want.

Do you mean it is rounding corners? If so, do you have it set in exact stop mode or Constant velocity? Cv Mode can do that if you have low accels.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: Z Axis not returning to Zero
« on: September 06, 2007, 07:14:11 PM »
No problem Nick, and no need to be embarased. You'r not the first and won't be the last to et bit by that one. If your machine is running fine, I wouldn't worry about changing the step or direction pulse time. It won't hurt a thing if you do though, no adjusting after that either. I think I would bump them up, but that is me.

I don't understand why it would loose steps going down, and not up. Gravity is helping on the way down. Sounds like you have a mechanical slip. Have you checked your set screws in the motor, pullies, couplings? Not sure how it is set up, but I would look for a loose machanical connection. Can you post a picture of your z axis setup? Also might want to change your step and direction pulse time to 5.

Keep us posted.

For more IO, you could look at using a PLC and running it over Modbus. I think it is Peter Homan that alos has a ModIO board you can use. For up to 54 more inputs, no outputs, you could use an Ipac with keygrabber but it is the least robust and IPac is not supported by the developers any longer. It works pretty good, but you are on your on to work it out except from other members helping.

Also might want to look at this thred about Cubloc.

Darc, I don't have that game pad, so can't say for sure.  It looks like, in the pic you have the x on axis 4 and the y on axis 3. I have sent you a pesonal message.
