It sounds to me like it may be as occasional mechanical slip or you have your accels set too high in motor tuning. Is your problem scaleable or is just an ocassional jump? Can you post a picture of the results you are getting?

I know there are still a few bugs in the Smooth Stepper but there is a big difference between the 2. The SS is still in its infancy, already more stable than the G100 and still being developed at an insane rate. I have no doubts any small bugs with the SS will be fixed ASAP.  I know Greg (the developer of the SS) and you would not believe his level of dedication,determination and drive. The G100 on the other hand is ancient and all parties have openly said development is finished on it. It is, as you have it now, as good as it will ever be. Riding on the bleeding edge isn't painless.

Yup, and here is another sentence out of that same manual.

I recommend you look over the manual in its entirety and get familiar with it before you begin.

That's on page 4.   

At the time the manual was written FRO only controlled the slider but it wouldn't control the feed rate. There was hopes that would be working at some point but as like many other things in the G100, I doubt it ever will. Your time would be better spent on the Smooth Stepper I think.

I don't see why not. Just remember not to use the same pin twice in the two different XMLs if they both have different wireing and be careful what you enable and disable in each.

Lost, I see what your saying. This is a good one. I will be thinking about this. At present I think you will have to do some VB magic to pull it off but I just woke up.

Yes and no. You can run many machines off of one PC but not at the same time. You can set up many XMLs (profiles) IN mach and just choose the one you are wanting to run at the time.
