Jimbo, It should be as simple as slaveing the motors for the axis. For example, X master and a slave. This is done in config, ports and pins.

Max, are you there when it jumps?  Sounds like it is either skipping steps or you have a mechnical slip going on somewhere like a pulley slipping on a shaft for example.
