Maybe the z axis is skipping steps when it trys to retract the z. Might tune the motor down on the z to 50% of present accel and vel and see if that helps for a quick test.

Instead of makeing the DRO an OEM number, make it a system function, a axis.

Download Mach Screen or screen 4 and open your screen set and add a dro and save the screen set. You can look in the Wiki to find the a axis dro number. Also, video tutorials that will help can be found in the support tab at the top of this page.

I think I got one of those or maybe a cyber sniper and windows recognized it as a keyboard. I have seen xkeys set up that work really slick though. The x keys are programable them selves. Can use for a series of keystrokes too. Let us know how you get on with it. You can modify your screen set so that you use other than default hotkeys (although I wouldn't if I didn't have to) to add flexibility. The main thing is that your device be recognized by keygrabber if using keygrabber, have a plug-in for it, be recognized by windows as a keyboard and just use it to take the place of a standard keyboard, or be able to write a plug-in for it.

I only knew Tom from this forum and I met him at the last Cabin Fever. He seemed like a good guy and very, very smart. I'm sure glad I got to meet him. I have wanted to try the video probing for a while but like most never had the time I could set aside for it. I had tried to contact Tom offlist with a couple of questions just this past Saturday so I could be getting the bits together I would need to give it a go. I will still give it a go as I'm ordering a camera and laser tonight. I hope I can get up to speed on the plug-in so I can help answer questions regarding it. I have no idea if I will be able to get my head around it yet or not but I sure hope I can. I will be posting my progress as I go.
