Sounds like your estop input is set to opposite of what it should be in config, ports and pins, inputs.

General Mach Discussion / Re: steps per or backlash?
« on: November 26, 2011, 07:23:04 PM »
Spitter, steps per will be a hard number and will not change unless you change hardware.  It will be a set number and no matter how good or bad it runs steps per will have to be what they are determined by your hardware.  Backlash can vary depending on flex and other less than perfect hardware elements.  Accel and velocity settings can wreak havic on a flexiable machine.

1st, do the math and set your steps per.  This link may help.

2nd, check that your steps per is correct.  If not, detune your motors untill you can get consistent solid results that your not looseing steps.

3rd, check you backlash. This link should help with that.

Do you have optional offset save checked in general config as well? If so you should get a popup when closeing Mach asking if you want to save current offset.

Will see if I can calm Brett down enough to get some sense out of him rather than the excited gibberish

Hood

That is true Hood.  At this point it's just excited thinking out loud.  The potential a well designed BOB would have with its on microprocessor just makes me a little giddy.  :)  It's practicality is still to be decided though.

I also need to apologize for a few things.  One is I had forgot today is Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!
Two is that Thanksgiving eve I was to tent camp with my boys and some friends and get up this morning and go deer hunting.  :)
Three, is that we didn't get a deer.  :(
Four is the fact that I have had 4 hours sleep in the past 55 hours and still have a turkey to eat this evening.    :(  ;D

I hope to catch you this evening.

Im thinking it may be loosing then when running in auto because you are changeing directions so fast.  I think inertia and accel are what you are fighting.

Sounds to me like your steps per on the 4th axis are set wrong.  What is it set at and how did you come up with the number of steps per rotation for it?

Sounds like you may be looseing steps to me. Try detuning your accel and velocity by 50% and see if that helps.
