I'm assuming you have 2 different profiles set up in Mach.  One for the Taig and one for the techno?

Dennis, do me a favor and post you xml and the g code your running when it shows its head.  On second thought, copy and zip your entire mach 3 folder and send to me via email please.   I'm redoing the controls on my mill right now but I will do some testing as soon as I get it back together.  I hate you or anyone else is having this problem.  The random ones are the toughest to dig out.  What version of mach are you running?

Resolution can also be changed with gearing.  You will just need to do some math and a lot of thinking to figure out the best motor, gears, drive for you.  Oriental motor has a pretty good utility to help you figure out what you need.  I would defiantly do the math my self.

I have my Mach PC networked though it is not recommended.  I have no problems pulling files from a network folder but I place them in the gcode folder before loading to mach.  I'm on a wired network mind you.  Wireless gave me the blue screen of death.  Something in the usb adapter and my pc with mach did not play well togther at all.

Paul, you must also be on a screen that has a jog enabled led.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Tool change location problem
« on: March 14, 2013, 05:37:07 PM »
That's what it looked like that code was doing, so at least I'm understanding something.  But it still seems to me that there is nothing telling the machine to go to its tool change location.  Would that be a different code?

The first sentence of you last post, "I just looked and the 1024 set has those as user defined dros. 1200, 1201 and 1202", is gibberish to me.  Is it something useful for me to understand?

Glenn

Yes, you will need to add some code to do what ever it is you want to do.  Those DRO numbers are where you will get the tool change position from.

You should have a gcode folder in your Mach3 root folder.  I would drag my code into it and load it to mach from there.

OK, you can set up softlimits either way but if your just jogging to a point and setting the MACHINE 0, softlimits sucess will depend entirely on the operator.  Home (refrence) your machine and jog the z down to where you want it to stop.  click on the machine coords. button and write down the value in the z dro.  Go to config., homing/limits and put that number in for your z min.  Set your slow zone big (several inches) at first to test with.  Go to the run screen and enable softlimits by clicking the softlimits button.  Should turn green around it then.  Test it slow by jogging the z down.  When it gets in the slow zone it will start slowing down and eventually stop at the machine coords you entered.  As always, test it slow and with caution and hand on estop...........  i dont want you hollering at me if you run z off the rails.  Eventually you can tune it to run as you want with a smaller slow zone etc. but for now just get it working and tested
