Thanks John, nice write up.  I may never get time to play with this but I sure hope I do.

This may well be problems in the plugin but I better let those that are more familiar with the DSPMC reply before I pull you off on a tangent.

LazyCam (DEAD PROJECT)

Due to the availability of other, more mature, low cost CAM packages, LazyCam development has ceased and it will remain in permanent Beta status. LazyCam is not intended - and not supported - for use in a production environment.

LazyCam is a BETA-release free importer included with Mach3.  It's purpose is to import standard dxf, cmx, and other file types to allow those that do not use CAM programs to more easily generate Gcode to be run under Mach3. The Basic (free) edition of LazyCam that is included with Mach3 carries no cost, but will only output 50 lines of gcode if Mach3 is running in Demo mode.  There is an optional PRO level upgrade that turns on advanced features such as object offsetting, pocketing, etc.  As the software is BETA, not all features are fully functional - please thoroughly test your files before purchasing a Pro license!

Mach3

Mach3 is the flagship of the ArtSoft USA products. It is released in two versions:  a Lockdown version, and a Development version.  The Lockdown is a stable, static release recommended for new users, or people trialing the software.  The Development version contains developing features and is released quite often so people can obtain new (but untested) features and capabilities.

The software will run in Demo mode until "unlocked" by a license file - please make sure that you get your machine successfully running in Demo mode, and that you are happy with the performance, before you purchase a license.  While in Demo mode, the software has the following limitations:

(Mill/Plasma) 500 line gcode limit (samples) (10,000,000 limit after licensing)
(Turn) 50 line gcode limit (samples) (10,000,000 limit after licensing)
Kernel Frequency locked at 25kHz (only applicable if using the parallel port driver)
Set Next Line function disabled
Run From Here function disabled
(Turn) Threading disabled
(Plasma> THC functions disabled

That's my Aunt Hood......... the one you had a crush on.  Man, you are getting old if you can't remember that.  ;D

Well Dick, it sure is a nice looking machine.  It will be interesting to see what they make in the future as materials are developed.  Great paint job on Yoda BTW.  Great detail.

Do you have an option to choose velocity, velocity step, single step, or multi step using the plugin?  Might be worth mentioning the multi step and velocity only are really the only 2 modes that work well in Mach.

Possibly Troy, I'll have to play with it some more later.  It runs well and I can work around it but I want it to be right.  The thing that is troubling is this....... with the source of operation selection being digital and analog inputs, it really shouldn't matter what you send over serial.  Once those options are selected, the others should be ignored and only those selected should be respected and visa verse.  I have the brains set up so that they can not send a run command or change directions while in manual mode.  AUD says to be sure the drive has the stop command and it is the last command sent before switching to manual mode.  I'm doing that and still no joy.  They are testing this as well and have been absolutely great so far.  The reason they are testing it BTW is they think it should be working flawlessly the way I have it set up so it will be interesting to find out what they find.  I could possibly have a problem with my drive.  I have had it for years and just recently started controlling it over serial.

Yup, you could do that Troy.  You could have a dro in MAch and you enter the value you want the brain to send to that param.

Good for you Troy.  You can also set the drive to ramp to stop rather than coast.  As long as your useing the digital common from the drive as the common for both switches it should be fine.  I'm guessing if they were both on the fault would take prioriety, I would hope it does at least.  You may want to test that.
