Looks good Nick!  If it's a good belt (stainless wire braid core or similar that doesn't stretch) you shouldn't need a tensioner.  If I'm seeing it right, might add a lot to put a brace between the brace you have now and motor plate so that it carries all the load.  Looks to me like the brace as is, is dividing the load between shafts.  This would make your back plate a lot more rigid as well.

VB and the development of wizards / Re: Dovetail Wizard
« on: July 06, 2013, 09:19:01 AM »
I second that, good job Gerry!  :)  I have used the Leigh dovetail jig in the past and as good as it is, its still quite the pain.  Nothing like entering a few variables and making sawdust to be sure.  By the time you buy a good jig and dedicate a router to the job not to mention the time........ your way is much better.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Spindle Override

Sure can, you could create a custom macro and call it from your g code or add it to the init string in general config.  Just open the script editor, write you macro and save as M3333.m1s for example.  then add the M3333 to your gcode files.  All the macro would need would be SetOEMDRO(*,100)  Replace the star with the dro number for spindle percentage........... can't remember the number.

Machscreen Screen Designer / Re: Feed and Spindle Bargraph with LEDs?
« on: July 05, 2013, 09:10:33 AM »
Yes SteelWolf, exactly, sliders, not dros.  The dro above the slider is a dro though assigned to the same oem code as the sliders..........  :P

Valid User DRO numbers
range from 1000-2254.

I usually start around 2000 myself.  I think some wizards use some above 1000 so starting at 2000 is pretty good insurance they wont be stepping on one another.

good job Brett, I like!
Thanks!  It works well for me.

Thanks
Brett

Have sent you a PM SteelWolf.

With careful consideration and pre planning you could make it a sweep (half round) gauge I think.

I have a load meter I did in a set file.  I used DROs.  Each one set to the same oem code and set the ranges of the dros from 0-10%, 10-20% etc. Then set the image path to some different color leds I made........ green to red.  I use it for spindle load. It works good and wish I could show you a video. I'm getting the load from the VFD via modbus and using a brain to set dro.

Best I can tell you either turn all the dips to on and use a resistor or use the dips and set them to your motors requirements.

The last few pages of this has a list.

Well, screen designer preference is only an opinion but I use MachScreen.......... to me it is by far the best.

It sounds to me like you have the current set a lot higher than the other driver did on your motor that's getting hot.

Quote
CURRENT SET RESISTOR (OPTIONAL)

TERMINAL 11         Current Set (OPTIONAL)

Connect the current set resistor to this terminal.

TERMINAL 12         Current Set (OPTIONAL)

Connect the other end of the current set resistor to this terminal.

DIP Switches 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be set to ON if an external current set resistor is used.

This input programs the G201X’s current output to the motor windings. The G201X will accommodate motor winding currents from 0A to 7A when using an external current set resistor. Use the following equation to calculate the value (in kilo-ohms) of the resistor:

R (in kilo-ohms) = 47 * I  /  (7 – I)

Shown are the current set resistor values for motor current in .5A increments.
