Are the servo motors and drives still available, and if so how many of each do you have.
Thanks Mike

General Mach Discussion / Compumotor servo drives for conversion?
« on: May 11, 2011, 09:07:31 PM »
I have a small cnc mill that I built and I use the compumotor zeta4 stepper drives and bipolar stepper motors.
They are great drives and I was wondering if anyone has used there servo drives with Mach3 and how they worked out because I would like to try them in my
cnc Mill conversion if they are compatible. ???

Thanks Mike

I have a 1981 Excello 604 cnc mill with an old dynapath m5 control that I am going to convert to Mach3.
The mill has 85volt 28amp 1700 rpm servo motors and westamp drives as of now.
I am thinking of going with either Granite drives or the Dugong drives for my conversion and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on these or
other drives I would really appreciate it.I am trying to keep this conversion at a reasonable cost so anyone with a different drive that will work and save me some cash would also be a consideration.

Thanks Mike ???

General Mach Discussion / X axis moving in only one direction?
« on: June 06, 2010, 11:18:50 PM »
I am hoping someone can help me out.
What happened was I was running my cnc router with mach3 using zeta4 drives and slo sym motors 300 oz/in and the x motor overheated and the axis would not move anymore. So I let the motor cool down and tried to move the X axis but it would only move in one direction using both the + and - jog keys,I checked the settings and the hotkeys are still set properly can anyone give me any ideas on what might of happened here?

Thanks Mike ???
