General Mach Discussion / 4th Axis - How do I constantly rotate it?
« on: March 16, 2009, 08:34:48 PM »
just added a 4 axis to my system.  This axis is a rotary head / divider.
I want to turn it on so that it continues to rotate at a constant speed while Mach3 runs my program (g-code).
In other words I want to use the rotary head like a lathe head.
So how do I program the 4th axis to turn on at the beginning of my g-code file, then turn off at the end?

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / DFX tool loading problems anyhelp please
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:35:33 AM »
Hey.

I am running Vista (service pac 2) with Corel Draw X4.  When trying to install in DXF Tools it comes up with an error  ---  "could NOT locate GMS folder".

Does any one know what that means, and how to correct it.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Joystick control for robot arm.
« on: July 12, 2008, 10:24:36 PM »
I am building a robotic arm and had planned to use mach3 to control its movements.
But what I really would like, is to use a Mach3 with a joystick.
There is a joystick control that comes with Mach3, but it is limited to X and Y movements only.
The key controlls work great, but don't have speed controls, like a joystick.

So....

Does anyone know whrere I can find a joystick plug-in for Mach3 that has more then just X and Y controls?

Any help would be great.

General Mach Discussion / Why did this bad cut happen??
« on: June 29, 2008, 06:47:37 PM »
I hate mistakes.

I was in the middle of cutting this part (see pciture). I noticed a clamp was getting to close to my cutter.
I stopped Mach3 to adust the clamp. When I restarted my machine again, I noticed that it now had a mind of it's own.

Why did it not just keep cutting my circle?  What happened?  Everything else cut just fine.

General Mach Discussion / How to increase circle resolution?
« on: June 23, 2008, 11:03:29 PM »
I am using Mach3, lazy Cam, and Corel Draw.
When I cut out a small circle on my CNC, the circle has a very high resolution and it looks realitivily smooth.
As my circles become larger they become more choppy.

Is there any way I can smooth out my larger circle cutting?

I have tried every format to export my drawings and there is no change.

Any help would be great.

General Mach Discussion / Drilling holes using Lazy cam
« on: April 26, 2008, 01:04:05 PM »
Hey everyone.

I have been using Corel Draw to set up driliing 1/4" holes in a piece of aluminum.  But I can't seem to get lazy cam to do anything with the holes that I have drawn using any of it's drill options.  All I want, is to draw the holes using corel draw, and have lazy cam set them up for drilling.  The only way I seem to get around the drilling problem is to redraw my holes as small as posible and have lazy cam seem them as dots, but what a pain.

Any help would be great.  Thanks.
