You would be better of by installing video card with lots of memory and more ram. Disable peripherals you don't need in the BIOS, that'l lighten the cpu load and free some IRQ shared services, and also less interupt calls.

What I'm saying is that the facility is there in Mach3 for zero accel parameter. I am an OEM manufacturer of flatbed machines and I get a comfortable 20 meters (+-780 IPM) per minute cutting speed, even higher, but that is over the usable range. But the acceleration settings will be needed to avoid overshoot. I have very short accel times because the machines are built from aluminium and is dual drive on the rail axis. So the lighter, the better for obvious reasons. You can feel comfartable that Mach3 will not be the inhibiting factor in your machines performance.

I read on you previous post you do flame cutting. Do you have auto ignitors on the torch/es? If so, the hf hv noise could induce a crash, or a reset. Do you have a plasma system connected? By without hardware, i mean that you must unplug the parallel ports and serial ports (all) connected to your cncmachine. Disconnect them on the computer side, and note that serial and parallel is not hot swap friendly, so you have to shut down, switch off power, and then unplug the cables. Then run a few programs just on the pc, and check for crashes.

I believe this is a relative question. Acceleration does not depend so much on Mach3 as it does on your hardware. The pulse engine on a slower computer is recommended at 25khz. If you have a strong enough stepper drive for instance, with a big pinion on a rack and a strong enough amplifier, and a theoretical 10 mm travel per step, you can imagine what the acceleration would be like if your speed up ramp is 0 milliseconds. It's all fiction really, and theory I suppose, but it could explain the possibilities.

Check for hardrive activety, i.e. hardrive status led in front of your PC or somewhere on a laptop. Sounds like you have a Sempron, should be fine for Mach3. If your hardrive is very busy, check your pagefile size and memory usage. You can do that by pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Del" simultaneously, to access the task manager whilst in Mach3 is running, and obviously before it crashes.
You have not come back to me about running Mach3 without any hardware connected, with other words in open loop virtual mode. If you do that it can help in establishing wether you have internal or external problems. Did you optimise your OS WinXP as per the "Optimization for WinXP file"?

The best is to start eliminating potential problems. Have you got any other software problems, or is it only MACH3?
Have you run MACH3 without any hardware connected? You might have to reconfigure some inputs/outputs etc. to enable MACH3 to run virtual depending on your current hardware configuration. If you dont get any crashes when running virtual, the next step would be to check your parallel interface. If you don't get any crashes with other software on your system then let's first leave the BIOS. We can go there later.
Some points to check for, is your hardrive very busy while you run MACH3? This can tell me something.
Also, when last did you do a defrag on your system?
What does the graph look like when you run ART's DriverTest.exe?

Can you tell us which operating system you have, and have you got any parallel port devices like printers, scanners etc. installed? Even though the devices might not be connected, the drivers might still load at start up. Even reinstalling windows could cure your problem. Do you get any error messages when your system crashes? Or does it just freeze? If you have XP loaded, when you get a crash, try and leave the system for a while before you reboot, sometimes the OS will recover and give you more info. Also check your BIOS settings, if you are overclocking it can be a problem. Have you got a Machine debugger running in the background? Another option is to disconnect the parallel ports and modbus if you have one, and run Mach3 in simulator mode, and check if you still have a problem.

You want to rotate the knife to stay aligned with the axis movement, i. e. 360 degrees functionality. It can be done, but it is advanced programming. You are not garanteed that MACH3 will behave if you run complicated VBScript. I have done this for triple rotating bevel heads in flame cutting, comes to the same function, but I'm getting some really weird behaviour from MACH3 especially if you pause and restart the movement.
