shout at me if i'm barking up the wrong tree here, but...and this may be a big BUT. If you're homing to either side of a point, are you sure the activatiing point is exactly the same.  Let's say you have a microswitch as your home switch and it's operated by a cam, the home point on the left side of the cam, may be in a different place to the home point on the right side of the cam.
As greolt has just said, re-homing on one side everytime may be the answer to this, if it is a problem.

when turning cast acrylic 18mm rod, i keep the revs down to around 600rpm and use fabreze as a coolant. So i would imagine take it easy is the order of the day.

have you tried a dry run with the spindle off to see if the steppers are creeping out of position, by either listening for the odd clunk or putting a clock (dti) on the axis.

did you just delte the ou
Thanks for the suggestions.  The computer I'm using is dedicated to Mach, meaning I don't use it for anything else, but it had a lot of other crap on in.  I got rid of everything but Mach and disabled all but the necessary processes and so far all has been well.  I wasn't able to turn off the toolpath view.....cause I just couldn't find what you were referring to.  Could you be a bit more specific?

Thanks again.
did you delete the other programs, or format the drive and re-install windows and Mach3.
