I retrofit a punch press last year http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,11844.msg75764.html#msg75764. I programmed a macro for punching (M20) and put it manually to the end of each line of G0 commands created with drill cycles. I use Excel spreadsheet to edit and put M20 after each line. Just a matter of cut and paste. Takes less than a minute.

Works in progress / 1024 screen set with Xbox 360 support
« on: June 24, 2010, 11:15:08 PM »
Here's a screen set which I am using at my shop floor. It has Xbox 360 hand held controller support. I use this controller with an excellent plugin programmed by Lee Davis. The macros used with these screens are included in compressed file. The config screen for Xbox 360 is also included. I use the back and start buttons for activating the macros. The back button loads the Xbox screen on which X0, X/2, Y0, Y/2 and Z0 are selectable with the back button on Xbox. The Start button executes X0, X/2 .... commands which zeroes and halves the X axis. Similar functions for Y and Z axes. Basic idea is that I can locate and center a job on the machine bed without the need to reach out to the keyboard on the control panel. Very useful for large machines.

For installation, uncompress the files in Mach3 folder. The digital-7.ttf font file goes into the windows/fonts folder and in the Function Cfg's/Fonts menu in Mach3 select digital-7 as the font for DRO's to get the desired effect. Mach SDK plugin questions and answers. / Xbox 360 plugin is the best
« on: June 24, 2010, 11:14:03 AM »
Hi Lee,

Your Xbox 360 controller plugin is too good. I have designed a few screens and macros to utilize it. I use it to center a job on my mill and the screens help me manipulate the dro's from a distance. I can zero an axis and make it's value half (handy for centering a job) with it. Here are the screenshots. If anyone is interested, I can upload the screen sets and the macros. Please note that these screens don't give the full functionality of Mach3 as in 1024 screen set. I have designed them keeping in mind the functions I use on my mill.

Nice job Dave. This one is certainly very easy on the eye and looks professional. I am looking forward to V4 to try it's new functions.

Awesome. I'd love to see the finished part (with paint and fittings).
