PoKeys / Re: External LEDs to Indicate MPG1 Axis
« on: June 27, 2011, 09:44:21 PM »
I use this code to do the same thing.

In pokeys0 Cfg:
Uled base range start # - 2001
Use ULED range 1 output - from 3 to 11
Invert Output - checked

In brain I have put:
OEMLED:59 - No Operation, Pass Signal - OEMLED:2004
OEMLED:60 - No Operation, Pass Signal - OEMLED:2005
OEMLED:61 - No Operation, Pass Signal - OEMLED:2006

I have connected LED's to 3.3V and connectors 4,5 and 6. Works perfectly. I don't think we need to go through macropump and assigning outputs on port 10 for that.

Thanks for your wishes. I'll take photos as I progress with that project. That machine was originally working on copy templates (1:10 ratio). About 8 years ago somebody installed dc servos and a nc control on it. Now that is dead too and they want me to upgrade it to cnc. I am going to replace DC servos with AC servo motors and give them better rapids and other bells and whistles.

What's the typical cutting speed you set for 1/2" and 1" thick mild steel plates.

I've just started work on an oxy fuel cutter too. It's 6 x 30 meters. It will be my first machine of this kind. So far I've done mostly mills.

What are you using for torch height adjustment. Is it manual?

PoKeys / Need rommendations for PK55 based pendant
« on: May 20, 2011, 08:59:41 AM »
Hi,

Last week I got my first PK55. Love it's functionality so far. I am planning to build a pendant with it for a 30 x 20 ft oxy/fuel cutter. The length of cable from pendant to control box would be 40 ft. Should I run a 30 wire cable from the pendant to the control or install the PK55 in the pendant and run the 40 ft USB cable with the E-Stop line to the control box. I am going to use MPG, LCD, E-Stop, FRO pot and a bunch of control buttons on the pendant.

Works in progress / Re: THE LATHE PROJECT - 2011

Scott,

I've tried this cyan on grey color scheme for my mill screens. This looks good on the desktop pc but doesn't give a good effect in the workshop environment. I am planning to convert a lathe in the workshop. Whenever it's complete I'll try this screen set there.

Walekumassalam. I guess there is not much demand for this support. Let's hope we get it in V4.
I was in Istanbul last Wednesday. Wonderful city. Now back in Pakistan.

Works in progress / Re: Working on a touchscreen set...

Hey, nice screen so far. Good to see that you are using Paint Shop Pro. I am also a loyal user of PSP since ver. 3. But recently switched over to Realdraw just for Mach3 screens. I still do the more complex jobs in PSP but when I am designing Mach3 screens from scratch then Realdraw is the best choice. It will be interesting to see how your project evolves. I have also done a bunch of Bridgeport machines myself.

Good going. What are the plans for the counter weights for the Z-axis.
