Here is the documentation I was able to find on the drive in question.  Im not going to pretend to understand exactly what it means.  If someone can understand the technical side and give me a direction that would be wonderful!
Connector P1 Configurations
Pin Function Details
PULīšĸ(+5V)
PUL- (PUL)
Pulse signal: This input represents pulse signal, effective for each rising edge;
4-5V when PUL-HIGH, 0-0.5V when PUL-LOW. For reliable response, pulse
width should be longer than 1.2ms. Series connect resistors for current-limiting
when +12V or +24V used.
DIR+ (+5V)
DIR- (DIR)
Direction signal: HIGH/LOW level signal, correlative to motor rotation
direction. For reliable response, DIR must be ahead of PUL by 5ms at least.
4-5V when DIR- HIGH, 0-0.5V when DIR-LOW. Please note that motor
rotation direction also depends upon the connection of the motor windings,
exchange any motor phase can reverse motor rotation direction.
ENA+ (+5V)
ENA- (ENA)
Enable signal: This signal is used for enabling/disabling the driver. High level
(NPN control signal, PNP and Differential control signals are on the contrary,
namely Low level for enabling.) for enabling the driver and low level for
disabling the driver. Usually left UNCONNECTED (ENABLED).

General Mach Discussion / Script error and DIR low active question....
« on: March 21, 2009, 12:42:19 PM »
A couple questions here...... Helping a friend, my mach 3 install (With custom screens) works fine.  No problems what so ever.
Exact same install on another pc/same controller.  He is getting random script errors when trying to home.

I have compared his XML to mine.  The only difference I can see is that in his motor outputs his DIR low active is checked and mine are not.  To my knowledge all this field does is reverse the motor direction.  So, first question, is that all this field does?  It seems a little redundant to me to have the DIR low active and the reverse field in homing/limits.

What would cause random script errors on an install that is widely used and no other issues reported with the customer base that is running this version of install?  My best guess is computer environment.  To the best of my knowledge, the computer is clean with no A/V no QTime.  Win XP

caught you hell! Its pretty friggen kick a$$ if you ask me.   The reason I asked is that I use artcam, and the picture have to be really good from the start to get any descent result.  You have the experience, I have the will to learn.  Unfortunately I do not have the PVC software.

i would be veru interested in any steps you take to clean up an image and get it ready for litho work.....

just got done with this one,  wish I had a smaller cutter I used the 1/16th ballnose endmill again.  Will work for a gift for my grandparents anniversary

General Mach Discussion / Re: I'm lost

it was the sherline 1/2 pulse mode that fixed your problem.  I did basically the same thing and I had axis drift all over the place.  It took me about 4 days to finally check the 1/2 pulse mode and all problems went away.  Everything that gecko support was telling me indicated that the sherline mode COULD NOT BE the problem, they actually said that in the motor tuning the step and dir needs to be 2.

I have about 2 hours worth of machine time in each.
I was wondering, what cutters do you guys use to do these?  I am still new to this and am looking for smaller size but good detail.  Any tips? Tricks ect?

notice that in the females face there is a line,  left side is lighter because it is deeper.

it cost me $35 to order 10 her bearings.  not to bad, just bad timing.   I used artcam to make the relief.  My desktop cnc machine has a wolfgang engineering spindle  and I used a 1/16th ballnose endmill.  Smallest I had that would cut this material as most of what I do is wax.

Here is one I did a while back in purple wax.  The 15 degree .005 in tip cutters I use for wax I dont think will cut the white plastic.

I was 1/4 of the way thru my second pass on a litho I was doing of my grandparents when I had a bearing seize in my spindle.  man was I hear broken.  It was looking really good too! :(
