Hello Wvancura,
What a great help to receive these settings for my machine!  ;D
I will reset my Ports and Pins as shown and report the results ASAP.
I can see that this information will be a real boon to all the many frustrated Mach3-ers who have faced this information vacuum.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to put us on the right track, at last  :)
Scintilla.

did you get your limits to work?

I cannot get the limit switches to be recognized on this machine. no indication that they are active. I have traced the wires and tested with a meter. Can someone help with setting them up?

Thank you, you have confirmed my suspicions.  Its never as easy as it looks.
Time to learn more stuff. My 66 year old learner is a bit slower these days.

Our company just got one of the cncest machines. It is running mach 3. I have found it impossible to set up homing on x and y no z axis limits. I will need to add those. any help is appreciated. We are thinking about changing out the controller.

General Mach Discussion / animatics motors

I have asked this before and got a response but I lost the email.
I am putting animatics motors on a manual mill.
Who is developing a MACH3 system to use these serial motors?
I think it was one of the moderators that responded but I cannot remember.
You may email me at jimwea@gmail.com.

General Mach Discussion / D R O mode
« on: March 16, 2008, 02:36:09 PM »
I only have one mill.
It is a nice little grizzly vertical mill.
I would like to put a cnc package on it but I do not want to loose the manual functionality.
In short, I would like to turn the motors off and use the encoders for manual positioning.
in a DRO (directional read out) mode.
Is this possible now?
can it be added?

It would be really sweet to be able to square up a block real quick and then zero at a point and cut a bolt patern or a pocket.

Am I missing something?

I don't have the original documents but I might be able to get them.
I was hoping to use a laptop to run it.
I have the power supply and break out board.
I think that the software needs to run on NT or better so I will need a new tower to put in the shop.
that just means more$$.
It would be worth the effort for a more robust system.
I will need to think about it.
