Mach4 General Discussion / Probe 2 setup, Pokeys57cnc
« on: February 14, 2021, 02:15:52 PM »
Usual disclaimer...I'm electronically challenged.

Using Mach4 and Pokeys57cnc on a G0704 converted mill, manual tool change.  I have a probe that is working for probing material and now want to add a tool height touch off.

Attached are photos of the electronics and PoKeys and Mach4 settings.  You can see the ribbon connections and the red line.  I think those are oriented correctly.  The blue wires are attached to pins 17 and 6 on the db25 connector and I get a full 5 volts through.  Can anyone tell me why I cannot get the Pokeys or Mach to read a change when contact is made with the wire ends?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mach4 General Discussion / Status Messages, History
« on: February 01, 2021, 10:58:14 AM »
Is there a way to clear the history?  My lathe throws a "Home switch C Home Tripped" on every revolution of the spindle. Rather than having to click on the History button and then the clear button and then the close button it would be nice to just put another button to clear the history directly.

Mach SDK plugin questions and answers. / xbox360 OEM#1
« on: January 07, 2021, 04:40:28 PM »
Looking to lock/unlock Y axis movement.  OEM code 251 does that.  I have a button on the screen and it toggles the Y axis as expected.  However, it does not affect the xbox controller.  There is a OEM#1 and #2 available on Lee's setup but again the Controller overrides and moves the Y axis with the joystick.

Any way of (toggling)preventing the xbox controller from moving the Y axis?

Mach4 General Discussion / Hotkeys/Shortcuts

As far as I can tell Mach4 keyboard plugin only allows for keys to map to jogging functions.

Is there a way to configure a key (ESC) to map to a button (btnStop) or call a macro?

PoKeys / Pokeys57cnc usb stalls
« on: March 04, 2020, 12:53:49 PM »
ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_Intel64_Family_6_Model_94_-_Intel(R)_Core(TM)_i7-6700_CPU_@_3.40GH
8 gig ram
usb 2.0 and 3.0
12v - 10 amp external switching power supply
fast/bulk transfer enabled tried 1 and 6 ms com rates

runs great under ethernet but stalls on USB.

Video shows continuous keyboard jog of Z axis.  You can hear the stalls.  Same for all axis.

Tried to register with PoLabs for help but no registration response yet.

Any suggestions beside use ethernet?

PoKeys / Pokeys57CNC motor pins
« on: February 26, 2020, 04:58:09 PM »
This should be simple for those that know the jargon.  Which pins match with which.  kl-6050 stepper driver and pokeys57cnc board.  I'm totally electronically challenged.

Has anyone successfully implemented xBox360 code for trigger acceleration ala Lee's Mach3 controller?  Willing to share?

I've written code for Daz's plugin for my lathe but it doesn't increase speed with thumb stick and trigger like Lee's does.  I don't use the trigger as a lock like some.  I disable the controller when not in use in case I bump it while doing something else.

Just picked up a mill and would like to not reinvent the wheel if someone is willing to share.

Mach4 General Discussion / Select Motion Control Device
« on: December 16, 2019, 06:58:34 PM »
Have been using pmdx411 with mach4 on my lathe for a couple of years now and recently picked up a mill that was running linuxCNC with a c10 board.

I thought that I could just create a new profile by copying the mach4Mill profile, connect the pmdx411 to the c10 board, start Mach4 with the new mill profile and select the pmdx411 as the motion controller and set the motor pin inputs as a start.

But the only motion controller listed is the simulation controller.  Is there another step that I have to do to get the pmdx to show as available?

My intent is to get a db25 AB switch and be able to control either the lathe or the mill.  What am I missing/assuming?

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 and mini PC

Anyone have experience with running Mach4 on one of those mini PC's like the AcePC T11?  Are the graphics a problem?
