I have the older one but the new V2 is basically the same except has 2 more buttons and is black. I also think it has macro capabilities.

Yes it uses a usb port, in fact the software that comes with it allows you to have 2 shuffle connected at the same time.  You can order them direct from Contour Design (www.contourdesign.com).  The new ones will work.  I will post my config files as soon as I get to my office.  You actually use 3 configs files one for each axis and then the xzy button toggles between them.

General Mach Discussion / Using a Contour Design Shuffle as a pendant
« on: July 28, 2006, 02:51:30 PM »
Hi all,

I thought you might be interested in seeing the Contour Design Shuffle that I have setup as a pendent for my Sherline CNC Mill and lathe that I am using with Mach 3.

The buttons are fairly obvious except the one labelled XZY.  This toggles the useage of the jog and shuffle wheel between each axis (a small popup on the Windows toolbar tells you what axis is in use.

The outer ring on the controller provides fast jog in each direction while the inner one provides a step by step move as you wind it around for fine movement.

The four bottom buttons are unused.

Can anyone help me with what the correct driver settings should be in Vector CAM to make sure I get the right output for Mach 3.

Thanks

I am using version 1.90.065 of Mach 3 and keep getting errors when using the Cut Rectangle wizard.

I am running it twice to get two nested rectangles with the following settings

0.115 diameter tool
HSS
2 cutting tips
x position 0
y position 0
(in center of rectangles)
corner radius of .1
length of inner rectangle = 2"
width of inner rectangle = 0.75"
0 rotation
Conv mill
inner mill side for inner rectangle
pitch 0
rapid height 0.1
depth 0.27
step depth 0.1

for outer rectangle I use the same setting except for

length of rectangle = 2.5"
width of rectangle = 1.25"
outer mill side

When I run the wizard for the inner rectangle everything is fine, but then when I run it for the outer rectangle I get a Mach3Scripts message that says "Error on line 617 - Type Mismatch"  and then it brings up the VB scripts editor.

I suspect that I am probably doing something stupid as I am a total beginner at the Mill and CNC but it still probably should not be dealing with the error in the way it is.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

David
