Hi Nivlek,

I have created 4 (very basic) toolpaths, 2 roughing with 1.5mm and 2 finish with 1mm endmills. These have not been tried (I am not the expert here as I usually work with wood and plastics) so you must adjust feedrates etc. to suit your material and machine.

Hope this may be of some use to you.

Hi Nivlek,

Welcome to the forum.

First problem:  The wavy lines and parts of the bull's tail are narrower than 1mm when the pendant diameter is set at 67mm.

What parameters would you like to change to resolve this ?

The "old swimming hole" has been drained down ready for the winter freeze and it's time to get in the stock of survival beer.

Another little circuit board - this one is for the development of the PIC microprocessor program and circuit for the 'Pulse Repetition Frequency' and 'Pulse Width Modulation' part of the RF laser control unit.

I got a chance to look at the outputs of the parallel port after untangling the redundant ports and pins situation that the Smoothstepper was warning me about.  The Direction signal is now a steady state.

Are you saying that for all this time you had a conflict of signals by configuring the same direction pin more than once within the Mach setup ?

That's coming on really nicely Dave, it's going to be a great machine. You are right nothing CNC ever really gets finished, it is all just work in progress.

Betting started at evens but Dave is now the favorite.
Love the website, and the pictures - cant be that long before it's making chips.
(we all speak a different language you know because 'Gas Springs' turns up zilch on ebay UK whereas 'Gas Struts' turns up pages of them  )

Ron,

I agree with Graham on this one, from what you have described it sounds to me like you have a tight or binding lead screw or linear slide. I would suggest checking the alignment etc. to get everything running free without any tight spots.
