The only other thing I can think of is that by installing on a different drive (unless you are using a dual OS) part of the necessary registry data (created by the install) has been filed under the wrong drive letter (E or C).
Perhaps the best solution is back up your config (.xml) and screen (.set) plus anything else that is important, just in case, then install the latest version over the top of your existing version. This way Mach and the OS will place all the data under the one drive letter and the registry will then be correct.

Perhaps check in Device Manager the properties of your printer port and that the address matches what you have set in Mach ports and pins.

Hi Jen,

Thanks for the offer to generate the VCP files – I may just take you up on that one.

Most of the things I do, in a way, demonstrate that CNC can and in fact is replacing skill in the workplace. I doubt I have the ability to manually do inlay work, to make even a reasonable job would require many skills that I really just don’t have, artistic ability being one of them. This is where CNC comes into its own and the Turners Cube http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,9755.msg59684.html#msg59684 is a good example of something I can easily make with CNC but not with a lathe as it was originally intended.

This inlay work has turned out to be incredibly easy to do but so so difficult to do well (perhaps that applies to everything) but I am now just starting to learn the key point like matching the aspect ratio of the whole image not just matching the height and width.

The M3 and M4 will toggle one or the other and when assigned different outputs will not both be on at the same time.
The output signal from the M3 / M4 command is a steady state high or low.

I never leave anything to chance with 3 phase so, if it is possible, it would not hurt to incorporate an interlock into your contactors just to be sure to be sure

The computer isn't connected to earth. I might try to do that. It could be noise in from the lpt port I guess?
