Hi Quin,

It is usual to have Mach turn off all outputs (as a safety precaution) when a stop is encountered. Perhaps changing the active state (High / Low) of the outputs you use for these functions may be the way forward (reconfiguring the logic switching of the connected devices).

Hi Jii,

'b' is an axis so Mach3 treats 'b1' is an axis movement of one unit even if no actual axis is connected.

Hi Fountaine,

No problem sir, we all start at the beginning (hopefully).

1) Download and run All's calculator, enter your steps/rev (usually 200), enter your microsteps (check your driver manual), leadscrew pitch, gearing ratio (if not direct drive - motor to leadscrew) etc. and that will tell you your steps per unit. This should match the value that is already entered in Mach3 'Motor Tuning' as 'steps per'.

2) Within Mach, click on the Diagnostics tab (button), then just above the Reset button is the Toolpath On / Off button, if the green LED is not illuminated then click the button to restore toolpath display.

Hi John,

If you place a G21 at the start of the code then it will run in metric units. Then use the X and Y Scale DRO's to scale the image to the size you require.

The .nc file extention will load OK into Mach (select all file types) or, by all means, change the extension to .tap or .txt as you prefer.

You need to change your IJ Mode to the opposite of what you currently have set (Config ; General Config ; IJ Mode)

2) In the Diagnostics tab, bottom left - 'Toolpath on/off' toggles the screen display.

Sounds like you did not set the cutting depth correctly - check out the LazyCam tutorial, this should explain everything you need to know. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,12078.0.html

Although I still use LazyCam, I mostly use VCarve Pro nowadays (around $600) http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/vcp/vcp_index.htm

There is a trial version download on their website so you can evaluate it's capabilities.
