Quick question is, in case I switched from metric to inches after I set MACH to metric in the original config. which I do not think I did. The vid said not to do it but it can be done. How does one do it before I reload Mach and start and config again.??

Do not change the Mach3 configuration to switch between Inches and Millimetres use the G20 / G21 commands, as appropriate, at the start of your GCode file.

I set Vcarve to a 5" on the X AND 4" on the Y When Mach cut the plexiglass which it did the size came out on the plexy 1" x 1" aprox. It all sized down

Could it be that you have set your 'Steps per Unit' incorrectly in Motor Tuning ? (if you input G0 X10 in the MDI screen does the X axis move exactly 10 inches ?)

Just a note to say thank you for your prompt attention to the licensing issue, I just wish more people were like you.

Now we just need to sort out the problem you are having with your motors not running correctly and setting the limits etc.

Hi Jerry,

It is a bit cheeky coming here and asking for assistance when you are clearly using a Pirate Licence. 

None of us here condone the use of pirated software in any form so my best advice is to purchase the Mach3 license http://www.machsupport.com/purchase.php before continuing.

LazyCam can be installed at the same time Mach3 is installed or it can be installed later as a 'stand alone' application. Check your Mach3 menu bar under 'File' to see if it is there. It is a very basic program and if you already have Vectric then I think it would be much better to use that.

Corel is probably not the best package to use (I use Vectric VCarve Pro) but you have to start somewhere and if you have Corel already then use it.

If your Corel drawing is simple then by all means export it in .dxf format then use LazyCam (free with Mach3) to create the GCode then load the GCode file into Mach3.

If your Corel drawing is more complex then it is better to export it in .dxf format then load the .dxf into a CAD/CAM program (such as Vectric) to create the GCode then load the GCode into Mach3.

Obviously you may need to read the relevant manuals (LazyCam, Vectric, etc.) to understand the correct procedures for setting up the tool paths, depths, etc. but it is basically quite a simple process and I am sure you will master it in no time.

OK, it's a lot of reading to do but I think it will show you the easiest way to read current DRO and other Mach3 data, how to perform the necessary calculations and how to act on the result.

How about Motor Tuning ??

Are you sure you ran Mach3 under your new TEST profile ??

Sorry to ask these stupid questions but I have tried "**While an axis is moving** , click on "Spindle CW F5" button on the bottom right of the screen." and found no problem with motor noise or missing steps.

One further thought - run the DriverTest.exe (Mach folder) to check that your PC is up to the task.

Hi Ugotit33,

Pleased to hear you have now got your machine up and running.

The roadrunner .tap file is in inches.

Once any GCode file has been loaded if you go to the Toolpath window it will show the dimensional extents (X,Y,Z) of the file under ‘Program Limits’ (these dimensions relate to axis movements from the origin as defined in the CAD/CAM program which created the GCode).

Hi Shiv,

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure just why you would want to use Labview to control the stage when Mach3 already handles Cypress Enable (VB) routines that may well accomplish your desired task. You may also want to take a look at 'Brains' as this may be the way to go.
