I don't know if it's any help but I use the same profile for both router and laser but I manually switch the power to either the Spindle VFD or the Laser PSU as required on start-up. This switching could be done in software but the current method works OK for me.
My X-Y Zero for the spindle and laser are slightly different so they are individially set before use. So far I have not had the occasion to use Laser and Spindle on the same workpiece but I expect it will come one day and then I will tackle using the different offsets in software.

Laptops are not supported for use with Mach3 unless you are using a suitable motion controller.

Mach provides Step and Direction signals and assuming that is compatible with your arm driver electronics then you could connect it in much the same way as you would connect any other CNC machine.
The important thing to remember is that Mach does not calculate any kinematic movements so you would only be able to use the arm from ‘teach’ created Gcode. Creating a suitable hand controller to move the arm prior to recording each and every ‘teach’ position could also be a demanding task.
It is, of course, always possible that some clever soul could translate kinematic movements into Gcode that would run with Mach but so far there has not been any success (despite a number of claims).

If you do not have a Mach3 license then it will only run the first 500 lines of Gcode.

Perhaps re-trace your steps…

Go through the ESS laser set-up details here;   https://www.warp9td.com/index.php/faq/faq-mach4#LaserSetup
And carefully check that you have completed each step correctly.

My original ESS / Mach4 laser test file is  ‘Star Trek.tap’ located in the .zip file here; https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=18345.0
Run this Gcode and if you have set everything up according to the ESS set-up details then your laser will fire correctly.

Unfortunalely, not all parallel port cards are good.

Mach4. All development on Mach3 ceased six years ago and not withstanding that it still works and has a loyal fanbase it is obsolete.

Just a correction...

Mach3 is Obsolescent it is not Obsolete (there is a difference).

Your Mach3 license is a file called   Mach1Lic.dat   located in your Mach3 folder. This file can be copied to another computer without problem (you can have more than one instance of the license although there are restrictions on how you can use them).
