Hi bteigrob,

If you are using the parallel port then the most common problem is failure to set the LPT port address.
The Mach3 Manual explains in detail the setting up procedure http://www.machsupport.com/help-learning/product-manuals/

Perhaps best to contact SolidCAM directly to ask if they have a post processor specifically for Mach3. Failing that the the basic Fanuc post processor is worth a try.

Unfortunately CNCMogul / Gryphon / et.al. has the reputation of supplying pirate software. http://cncmogulsucks.com/

Before we proceed you need to check with Artsoft licensing http://www.machsupport.com/contact-us/ that you do indeed have a genuine Mach3 license.

You will also need to check with Vectric http://www.vectric.com/company/contact.html that you have a genuine License for Aspire.

I will give you a reasonable time period to confirm the license situation.

Just to be clear, it is not the PC that gets stuck, rather the table loses position and moves to some odd place.

Ahh - that's a different problem - I thought it was the PC that stopped.

Before going further could you please check with Licensing http://www.machsupport.com/contact-us/ to verify that you are using a genuine Mach3 license.

Just a shot in the dark but it could be that your graphics card is struggling (as can happen with long Gcode programs). Try running your Gcode program with the ToolPath switched off (Diagnostics screen) and see if that cures the problem. If it does then perhaps upgrade your graphics card (more ram).
