Your Mach3 set-up is just fine left as it is in mm.

If a Gcode file has been compiled in mm units then it should have a G21 at the start of the code.
If a Gcode file has been compiled in inch units then it should have a G20 at the start of the code.

Your machine set-up will not be changed by the G21 / G20 it is just the Gcode units that are converted during the program run. Unfortunately the roadrunner file was compiled in inches but they forgot to include the G20 (probable done just to fool us all   ).

Once you are satisfied that Mach3 works to your expectations then order the license, it is perfectly in order to continue using Mach3 in demo mode for as long as you wish.

That sounds correct.

When using the TTL(L) input to the laser PSU 0Volts is maximum laser power output and 5Volts is minimum laser power output.

However, to reverse the voltage slope just change the Step Low Active state of the Spindle (Config. / Ports & Pins / Motor Outputs).

The roadrunner Gcode file was compiled for a machine set-up in imperial (Inch) units.

If you add the code G20 to the beginning of the roadrunner Gcode file Mach3 (which you have set-up in mm units) will perform the conversion and your machine will reproduce the work to the intended dimensions.

4.5 Volt would be OK, connect as shown in the diagram (+pole to the 10k and -pole to GND).

If you wish to test the circuit / setup without it being connected to the laser PSU then temporarily connect the components shown in red.
With this and when Mach3 is set-up as described then the commands…
M3
M11P1
S100     should indicate 5 Volts
S50       2.5 Volts
S0         0 Volts

Etc.

Go into Config. / Ports & Pins / Motor Outputs and change the Direction Low Active state for your X axis. This will reverse it's direction of travel.

Hi Bernd,

You are making progress.  

Set PWM Base Frequency to 100 (spindle setup)
Set Output #1 to Active Low (output signals)
Set Clockwise (M3) to Output #1 (spindle setup)

You need to add spindle speed to your Gcode (S0 = minimum PWM ; S100 = maximum PWM).

You need to be using Mach3 version R3.043.056 or later.
