The fact that you are getting the error when using Win7 totally destroys my theory.  

On the positive side, nice job withe the Evolution plates and eccentrics.

EDIT  Perhaps thoroughly check your Gcode to make sure that your post-processor is not inserting some codes which are not properly recognized by Mach3.

Hi Gene,

This is probably not much help but I have not been able to replicate your Art Code error now as I did some 3 years ago. What I found then is that the error occasionally appeared on one PC but when running the identical code (and version of Mach3) on another PC there was no error and my code ran just fine, every time.
It is my guess that there was some kind of conflict where my PC / installation of WindowsXP was not happy with the way Mach3 wanted it to behave but that was as far as I got.

yes, and excuse my ignorance as i ma not a mach3 expert,  but it is not immediately clear to me why a pause in a sequence of moves would not be considered movement. probably i don't understand the logic behind what feed hold is really used for in practice since im not much of a machinist, but if i had a piece of gcode that had a g4 in a complicated sequence i wanted to pause, i might expect that feedhold will pause the gcode execution. or at least pause at the subsequent movement after the g4. obviously it does not as found empirically.

I agree with you and what you say but Mach3 operates the way it does and that is the way we must learn to use it.

all I have open on the laptop is mach3, cambam, autocad 2006 and a single internet explorer page. I used to run much more on my old laptop

The recommendation is that you can run all these applications on your laptop but not whilst Mach3 is running.

Hi Karl,

I am pleased to hear that you have purchase a genuine Mach3 license.
Follow your motion controller’s set-up procedure.
Copy your license file Mach1Lic.dat into the Mach3 folder.
Do not duplicate the pin numbers allocated to the 0 – 7 Outputs in your Outputs set-up.
For your Outputs 0 – 7 to drive anything (relay etc.) they need a power source as shown in the attached diagram.

Please I want to use a 3axis mach3 CNC motion controller USB card breakout board.
1, What are the software I will be needing to install this card on my laptop.
2, how do I reconfigure my mach3 or are there other mach3 designed for motion controller USB card.

First job is to choose which motion controller you will be using but please remember that like most things - you get what you pay for. It is always best to use one which has customer support and repair backup (just for example; PMDX  http://www.pmdx.com/  or Warp9 http://warp9td.com/ but there are others so please check).
The motion controller will come with instructions (possibly recommending to use a particular version of Mach3) and an installation program which should make the setting-up an easy and painless process.
