Welcome to the forum.

Yes sir, you can transport your Mach3 license between computers without issue.

You can also use the same license on more than one computer and provided you are not using a machine for commercial purposes on more than one machine.

I don’t think it can be done exactly as you have described because the homing switch back-off distance is limited. There is a lot of reading to do but this should help…

Just as a tip to othrs, whn th workshop nds claning tak car whn using th shop vac on th computr kyboard. It mad such a good job on min that I had to spnd about an hour going through th bag dust and shavings to find my missing kytops – and thr is still on missing.

My thoughts are that Mach3 is running correctly and that your Z axis is stalling on the way down.
Try halving the Velocity and Acceleration settings in Motor Tuning for you Z axis (remembering to save the changes) and see if that makes any difference.

Please clarify. What is the "external motion device which can be purchased very reasonably"? And where would I look for them? I'm trying to sale my CNC Router and building a Joe's EVO CNC. I have a PC I can use on the EVO but it is 64bit.

But, there are many more to choose from.

(Please be aware that the very cheap Chinese motion control boards may not support all the Mach3 functions and also backup / support / software and firmware updates may not be available).
