That's always the way - things never seem to misbehave on demand.
Try with SW4 to off for a while and see if that helps but check motors do not get too hot - they should be hot to the touch but not too hot that you cannot hold your hand on them for a while.
By all means post the details of your set-up, the hive mind will almost certainly spot anything that can be improved.
Also perhaps post your <profile>.xml file from your Mach3 folder then your Mach3 settings can be checked. Copy and rename this file to DEM.xml before posting (using the Reply tab and Additional Options...).
