I'm sure the CycleStop is the right way to stop work. The instantaneous stop of the step pulses is incorrect. I have never encountered the error of servomotors at a stop, only in mach3 and mach4.

I agree, however Mach3 requires Feed-Hold then Stop if exact position is not to be lost and this will never change. Mach4 is under development and who knows, future changes may be made to the Stop process to avoid the need for Feed-Hold.

I am not sure there is a way so to be safe, if it was me, I would modify the current relay configuration to make it 'foolproof'.

Hi Seitz333,

Try installing the patched version of Mach3 - the installer is named R3.043 here;  http://www.machsupport.com/software/downloads-updates/

You can install it over the top of your existing installation.

Also the new C35S board is a slightly different layout, so I had to replace the ethernet connectors that go to the motor drives with longer ones so they would reach. 

Just a wild guess...

Check the ends of your old against your new Ethernet cables to make sure that the wire layout is the same - there are straight and there are crossover cables, you could possibly have the wrong type ?

Just to confuse you (& me) the Mach3 installer has been called R3.043 (it is a modified version of the original R3.043.062)
Install this version of Mach3 over the top of your existing installation.

Bryannab mention a patch .062 to be find in macsuppot.com as a new installer. I can not find it. Where is this new installer? I have been affected by the last update of window 10.

Just a thought…

Because of the way in which the Smooth Stepper stores it’s data, when setting things up or making changes in the Mach or ESS configuration, it is possible (quite easy in fact) to create a corrupt .xml file.

My suggestion…

When you re-install Mach create the profile from scratch also (don’t just copy across the original .xml file).
