That's just it. It's not backing off at all. When it homes it stays against the switch

Then you have a problem with your Mach3 installation which could be...
Software, in which case re-install Mach.
Hardware, which could be electrical noise causing a false signal or a poor quality switch.

Try increasing the Debounce setting in Config / General Config and see if that makes a difference.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Where is Auto tool zero script saved?
« on: November 10, 2019, 07:02:58 AM »
The Auto Tool Zero script is saved within the relevant button in the Screen set you are using (typically 1024.set).

(the file HiddenScript.m1s is only a temporary store for the last macro / script used).

Within Mach3 there is no setting for limit switches back-off distance - the axis will only back-off until the limit switch changes state.
You can then use an Offset or, within the Button, use VB to set the axis position/s of your choice.

Tangent Corner / Slow on the uptake.

I must admit to being a little slow on this one but…

Last week whilst organising an electrical repair on the hoist brake of a dockside crane I happened to notice, in a small adjacent dock, 4 guys getting a Pool Table on board a 60 foot (or so) private boat. Three of the guys were struggling to get the table in through the saloon doors and the fourth guy had the easy job of carrying a 5 foot spirit level. It took them quite a while but they managed it in the end.

It was not until driving home that afternoon, thinking it would be nice to own a Pool Table, I started wondering just how the fourth guy was ever going to 'level-up' a Pool Table on board a Boat !!

Your Y axis looks reversed to me but with a router it all relates to the position that the operator stands in relation to the machine. This video explains the Right Hand Rule  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKwlzIJG5lo

Ji JAC,

After you type a number hit the Return (Enter) key.

(This applies to most, if not all, Mach keyboard entries).

Sorry to say but the Toroid may be the only re-usable item in that controller unless you have the electronic skills to fault find and replace the defective components.

I don’t know of any ‘Plug n Play’ or EZ replacement controllers they all require some knowledge and skills to connect and set-up. The cheap Chinese controllers / boards offer no customer support and quite often the just don’t work at all and so are best avoided.
Please take a look at the Gecko G540 and have a read of the support information available on their website – this will give you a good idea of what is required and the degree of complexity etc. https://www.geckodrive.com/g540-4-axis-digital-stepper-drive.html

There is much to learn but, as a hobby, the journey is great fun (some tears along the way) and the rewards are more than worth the effort.

Hi JoeS01,

I think perhaps KatzYaakov has mistaken your CN3040 for a different machine.

You do not have Servo's, you have bipolar Stepper Motors.

Do you wish to replace your controller completely or just the parts that are broken ?
Could you perhaps post a couple of picture of the outside and inside of your existing controller ?
