This is the new kid on the block. At just 7 weeks old he doesn't know too much about CNC yet but given half the chance I am sure he would be pleased to re-arrange my wiring layout.

Tangent Corner / AVO Douglas coil winding machine.

Another little project for a rainy day...

Built in the 1930s by The Automatic Coil Winder & Electrical Equipment Co. (later to become AVO Limited) this little, linear, coil winder is in need of a bit of love and attention.
One day, it will again become fully functional.

Tangent Corner / An unusual event.

Well, perhaps not unusual in the run of things but unusual for the south east of the UK.

Last evening, following a prolonged period of extremely hot weather, cooler air rolled in from the west causing a temperature inversion - the developing cumulus, at the lower level, cast it’s shadow onto the upper levels and is something I had not seen for many years.

These two pictures of the event were taken about 15 minutes apart and shortly before the start of the best thunder storm, which lasted for most of the night, I think I have ever heard and witnessed.
