Mach4 General Discussion / Laser.

Has anyone else tried raster laser engraving using the ESS ?

If so could you please post some pictures of your results.

Perhaps I am missing something but so far, this is the best I have been able to achieve using ESS build 227 and Mach4 build 3882.

Tangent Corner / CO2 Laser Mirror Allignment.

Mirror adjustment / alignment for a CO2 laser is quite a tricky process. It usually involves placing a paper or tape target over successive mirrors and adjusting the previous mirror to centre the beam on the target – it is basically a trial and error process whilst test firing the laser.
This photo, of a slight mishap during a test fire, was posted on another forum and the owner of the finger commented: “it hurt, in fact it hurt quite a lot”.

Don’t we just have to be so careful when operating any of our CNC controlled equipment ?

Tangent Corner / My Little Helper.

He has hundreds of toys around the house and workshop but every now and then one of the toys has to suffer his wrath. This monkey was the latest victum.
I don't know just what goes on in his mind but I just have to love him.

(the more people I meet the more I love my dog).

Show"N"Tell ( What you have made with your CNC machine.) / Trolley tokens.

Now you would think I have more important things to be using a CNC machine for but these little tokens are an essential part of life nowadays. Like many, I no longer carry cash  (if it can’t be bought using my phone or a card then it doesn’t get bought) and when I ran out of Beer and had to make an emergency trip to the supermarket and then when I arrived found that I had no tokens or coins to free a trolley from it’s compound it was disaster (over the years I have been given many free trolley tokens as part of advertising campaigns but over the years I seem to have lost them all, or perhaps the car eats them).
Fortunately, one of the supermarket trolley marshals had a little key which he used to free a trolley from it’s brothers and sisters so I was able to collect my 4 cases of Beer and get them back to the car.
Thus my token making session.
