General Mach Discussion / Rapid movements

Any ideas why the machine rapid moves are all of a sudden so fast the machine loses position?  Works great for months and now the G00 moves are incredibly fast.  I checked the tuning and the profiles are what they always have been since I set up the machine.

Art warned that the price was going to increase.  From what I remember I thought it was going to be $100 so it may go up again.

Roberto,

Any further updates on your lathe? Still happy with everything? How has it been running?

Thanks

Dan.

Tangent Corner / Re: Tool change puzzle...

This is what I know.

1) Buy a tool height touch off probe. Here is one but there are many.

Issue is you need the room on the table to use the probe.  A lot of times I am space constrained.

2) Buy a tool holder system like this Tormach.

You will need a height check and indicator to find the offsets.

3) Go big and buy an automatic tool changer.

Fits an mini mill don't know if it fits your system.  I think you still need to buy the Tormach holders so throw in another $500 or so.

Otherwise feed the monkey.
