General Mach Discussion / LED for in-position (servo active)
« on: November 19, 2012, 02:41:26 PM »
I am running mach 3 with 2 servos and Gechos

I need to have an external LED that turns on when the servo motor is in-Position (ACtive or what the proper title is.) Does any know of an circuit that would do this.
I talked to a Gechodrive engineer and he said there was no way to connect to the Gecho to do this.

I am not good at electronics and need help-
this is very important to my current project.

General Mach Discussion / run small program with a switch
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:15:40 PM »
This is probably old stuff
I need to run a short program from a switch (with the main program loaded)
I already run the main program from another  switch.

G91G0X 3.5 (feeds 3.5in of wire)
M7 (Cuts wire with a Solenoid)
M9 (Releases Cut Solenoid)

We are making a Twist Tie machine w/2 servos - Runs on Mach 3 - works great - have a patent

Is this do-able ?

Also am going to need some help with Screen Design soon - Like to hear from anyone interested with price

Thanks

I am using a ASUS netbook 1.66, 1 GIG and Win 7 Starter with SS - had some problems with grounding but is now running fine. $300 on Amazom- no shipping, no tax
It also ran on an older COMPAQ laptop with win 7 Pro

 :)
good news
I tried grounding the SS board every way I knew - No success tried lots of grounds, but for fun I grounded the laptop to the metal mount of the parallel connector coming from the SS.

Wow !!! It worked, on both laptops-- No crazy motor stuff.

Any way thanks all for your thoughts

More info on laptop win7 and SS.  Tried another laptop-same results-this time I disconnected one motor and removed mach3 actions pins etc.
I also lowered the speed and accel/dec.  could get the motor to sink with gechos and it would run fine in one direction, but screwed up (ran errratic- jumps and lurches) in the other direction???  any one got any hepl here.  Both motors do the same, when run by themselves.  When both hooked up one drives both in one direction.  On 2 different laptops with win7 etc.  Of course it runs great on XP with SS. >:(

I,ve been going nuts for a couple days - trying to get SS to run with my COMPAQ laptop with win7 PRO  ( and Gechos)
The 2 Motors latch to each other. One drives both etc.  Even with one of the motors not enabled it drives both.  I slowed them down and set  long accel/dec and they would sinc with the gechos, but never run independently,???
I loaded the latest Mach3 and SS on one of my XP's and they worked perfectly.
So is it Win7, or the Laptop.--I tried many grounding methods.

Where to start would be greatly appreciated
