It's a Bridgeport Clone with Ballscrews. 3x 1200 oz/in. Keling Steppers, 8078 Keling Drives, 72VDC 20A Keling PS.

LOL, that doesn't sound to reassuring. What should I be looking for?

323
Ok, thanks for the explanation, just making sure it won't change anything and make the steppers act funny or mis steps.

324
So how does going from zero to 3 not affect the motors, or is it just a slight delay in the way the pulses get there? I guess it's better to have them slightly longer than too short where the motor can miss a pulse?

325
Thanks, what does the step pulse do?

I am installing my VFD for spindle control and I'm using the C6 board from CNC4PC and it says in motor tuning under spindle to change the step pulse to 3. Well this changes the step pulses on my X Y and Z axis from 0 to 3 as well, what will this do to the other axis'. Thanks.

Mach Screens / Re: Objects Jump Around, Help.

That didn't help. They still jump around. It's like they are returning to the original places they once were or totally skewed like the background. I'll try other computers later today, thanks for the help.

What do you mean by 'locked down'? If there is a lock down function how can you change objects around then?

Mach Screens / Objects Jump Around, Help.
« on: April 15, 2009, 04:25:39 AM »
So this may just be one of the many quirks of Mach Screen 4, but I'm woking on just changing the look of the interface and when I click on buttons to change the graphic it makes other objects jump around on the screen. I mean a whole bunch of graphics will shift to different locations. For some weird reason it only becomes very persistent after I've changed a lot of stuff from the standard. I save very often and when I reopen I immediately save the file and change the version number as I get lots of things jumping around.

So for instance I'll work on changing a few button graphics on a a standard 1024.set file and everything will be fine. I'll save it, then work on it more, the more I get away from the original look I get more objects jumping around. So in the beggining when working on a new look I can change a few things before the objects start shifting, when they do shift I already saved the file, close down screens4, restart, get a few more things done and so on, but then I get to the point where I've change a lot of things then when I reopen the program I can't change anything without the objects jumping around, thereby I can only get so far into making a new look when it's always buggy and I can't progress. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I found some info on it. I didn't realize that I had to restart the program, then I turned shuttle to .005, then I set speed to 100%, but someone else just told me I shouldn't have it at 100%? Any suggestions.

Also anyone know how to ACTUALLY do ballscrew mapping. I've looked and looked and seems no one actually knows how to do it?
